I haven’t left the Brisbane property market.
I have retained my own investment in Ascot and, rather than selling quality Australian property, I have accessed equity and started building investment exposure here in the United States.
My first U.S. purchase was a two-bedroom apartment at approximately US$200,000, producing an 11% gross yield.
For context, a broadly comparable apartment in Clayfield today could be closer to A$900,000.
That comparison was one of the things that first made me look seriously at the opportunity here.
I now have a residence in Florida, have opened a real estate brokerage in Palm Beach County, and am actively sourcing projects and building relationships on the ground.
For me, the interesting part is the convergence:
Population. Capital. Wealth. Development. Property.
I made the decision more than 12 months ago to expand into the United States.
Now I am living inside the market I spent so long researching.
And behind the scenes, I am building something I believe could create a very interesting pathway for Australian investors looking for exposure to the U.S.
More soon.
