Communitas '27 now has a venue — and the festival we're putting on is unlike anything the Australian legal community has seen before.

Next July, LexNova Guild brings Communitas home to Melbourne for the first time, staged inside the bluestone walls of Pentridge, Coburg — a former prison, now a symbol of transformation. Escape is the theme: escape from the six-minute billable hour, from outdated ideas of how a lawyer should show up, and from the isolation of pure competition into co-opetition.

A NEW WAY FOR AUSTRALIAN LAW: We're pleased to share that our first 'Guildmasters and Guests' event was a sell out! A true privilege to share the work of Suzie Miller with her important play 'Prima Facie', a National Theatre Live production starring Jodie Comer.

The film brought up many complex consideration for our audience of lawyers, barristers and complimentary professional services. One thing we can all agree on? The law as it relates to victims of sexual violence often falls short of its goals.

The LexNova Guild is made up of progressive altlaw leaders who seek to create a more inclusive and nuanced life in the law, and outcomes for the community that reflect contemporary standards.
