We celebrated the outstanding students recognised at this year’s Engineering and IT Scholarships and Prizes Awards Night, with 44 scholarships and 31 prizes and awards presented. Congrats to all recipients ✨🚀

“At UTS, you’re not waiting until you graduate to start your career. You’re already doing it.”

Through the UTS Industry Degree Academy (IDeA) Cadetship, students combine their studies with paid industry experience from the start of their degree. For Arushdeep, that has meant gaining experience in cloud computing and AI while studying Computer Science. For Na'ama, it's provided a pathway into cybersecurity and cyber law through hands-on experience in government.

Engineering Intelligence didn’t start today. It’s been built over generations 💫 Marking International Women in Engineering Day this week, we’re reflecting on the legacy of women in engineering at University of Technology Sydney.

Look back at some of our favourite archival images from the 1980’s, capturing a glimpse of UTS in a different era – engineering labs, UTS Open Day, high school visits, and some familiar women in engineering faces at the beginning of their career journeys.

From one of the longest recognised women in engineering communities, these moments represent the foundations of a more inclusive future, and the leaders who continue to define what engineering intelligence looks like today.

This International Women in Engineering Day, we’re recognising the power of Engineering Intelligence and the women driving it, like UTS Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering student Chloe Radoll.

Growing up in regional NSW, Chloe’s curiosity for how things work has taken her from hands-on projects at home to global opportunities through the National Indigenous Space Academy (NISA). At UTS, Chloe has been able to turn her passion into leadership, taking on the role of President of the Robotics Society and helping create opportunities for others to learn, connect and belong.

As Chloe shares, “It’s about showing other women that they belong here too. Engineering needs diverse voices and perspectives.”

Today, we celebrate Chloe and all women in engineering driving innovation and opening doors for future generations.

From BIT Co-op scholar to health tech founder 💻

While studying the Bachelor of IT Co-op program at UTS, Dylan Coyne gained industry experience, built valuable connections and developed the skills that helped launch his career in tech. Today, he's the co-founder of Updoc, a digital healthcare platform helping Australians access medical care more easily.
