"On 3 June 1992, the High Court of Australia decided in favour of Eddie Koiki Mabo and his fellow plaintiffs...a decision that countered the claim by the British that Australia was ‘terra nullius’ (land belonging to no-one).
The following year the Parliament of Australia passed the Native Title Act 1993 to create a system for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to make a native title claim over their lands." - aiatsis.gov.au

Our country is beautiful, but remote communities still suffer the tyranny of distance. We need to make sure every community in Australia has equal access to resources and a chance to be ‘All In’ and moving forward toward reconciliation and healing.

We know there are still many communities in need of legal advice for childhood sexual abuse – would your community would benefit from Knowmore Outreach?

"As an Aboriginal Engagement Advisor, my role is centred on connection — connecting people to support, and to a sense of safety within systems that can often feel unfamiliar or overwhelming.

Through my work supporting clients via NRS and TSGRS, I provide culturally informed guidance that prioritises trust, respect, and understanding. I believe meaningful engagement begins with listening, being present, and creating spaces where people feel seen and heard without judgement.

A significant part of my role is bringing cultural safety into everyday conversations and interactions. Sometimes this is through advocacy, sometimes through education, and often through simply showing up in a way that brings comfort and reassurance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and families.

The impact of genuine connection is reflected in the relationships built over time. Some clients present through word of mouth and specifically request to work with me because they know they will be met with understanding, respect, and authenticity.

This work is deeply meaningful to me personally. As the child of a Stolen Generations person (my mum), I carry lived experience that shapes the way I approach community, trust, and healing. It gives me a strong understanding of the intergenerational impacts many people continue to navigate, and it strengthens my commitment to ensuring people feel culturally safe, supported, and empowered.

For me, this role is more than a profession — it is an opportunity to contribute to stronger connections between people, culture, and services in a way that honours community and lived experience," Rosanna (Milika) De Santis
