A man has been charged with driving with a high range concentration of alcohol and drug driving after allegedly driving dangerously and crashing into another car.

Driving with the presence of a high range concentration of alcohol and illicit drugs in the system is an offence under section 111A of the Road Transport Act 2013.

The offence of police pursuit is also known as ‘Skye’s law’ and is contained in section 51B of the Crimes Act 1900 (NSW).

Drug driving charges should only be brought where a driver has a concentration capable of impairing driving, and those with medicinal cannabis prescriptions should have a legal defence.
