Many households are still feeling the pressure of rising costs.

This year’s NSW Budget provides practical cost-of-living relief while continuing to invest in healthcare, education, transport and other essential services.

From $100 off vehicle registration and frozen Opal fares to new schools, upgraded hospitals and more frontline workers, the focus is on helping people now and building for the future.

Here are some of the key measures announced in the 2026–27 NSW Budget.

Most people can’t avoid paying their rego, tolls or public transport fares.

Here’s a quick look at some of the measures in this year’s NSW Budget aimed at helping with those everyday costs.

These are the new public housing homes Waterloo tenants are now moving into.

For too long, many people were living in ageing buildings with mould, leaks and problems left unresolved for years.

Walking through these new homes, the difference is obvious.

Public housing tenants deserve to live in safe, modern homes with dignity.

If you've been putting off getting your child vaccinated because they don't like needles, this may be worth knowing.

NSW children and teenagers aged 2–17 can now receive a free flu vaccine as a simple nasal spray.

As winter continues, flu is circulating in our community and vaccination remains one of the best ways to help protect children from serious illness and reduce the risk of passing it on to other family members.

The nasal spray is quick, needle-free and available through participating pharmacies, GPs and Aboriginal Medical Services.

For many families, that makes protecting their children a whole lot easier.

Emanuel Synagogue is where I had my Bar Mitzvah. Walking back in is never just another event for me — the memories come straight back every time.

Today, representing Steve Kamper, I joined Her Excellency the Governor of New South Wales, Dr Marjorie O’Neill - Member for Coogee, Opposition Leader Kellie Sloane MP - NSW Liberal Leader, parliamentary colleagues from both sides, mayors and councillors from several councils, rabbis, communal leaders and distinguished members of the community — all there to honour Rabbi Jeffrey Kamins OAM.

For nearly four decades, Rabbi Kamins has helped shape Emanuel and the community around it, through his commitment to inclusion, interfaith understanding and service to others. As he steps into a new chapter as Rabbi Emeritus, what he’s built will outlast the title.

It was a privilege to be there for it. Mazel tov Rabbi Kamins — every good wish to you and your family for what’s ahead.

Today is the shortest day of the year.

If you're wondering where winter has gone, you're probably not alone.

It's been a fairly mild one so far.

The good news is that from tomorrow the days start getting longer again.

If you're able to, enjoy the weekend. And to those working through it — especially our frontline and retail workers — thank you for looking after us.
