Important updates regarding the process for applying for permission to work for more than six months under a working holiday visa which may benefit your employees as well as your business:
1. If You Have Already Submitted a Request Before the Six-Month Period Has Passed
If you have already submitted a request for permission to work longer than six months with the same employer, you may continue working for that employer while you await a written decision. Please note that due to the high volume of requests, the department is unable to send individual confirmations of receipt of your request.
2. For Those Awaiting a Written Outcome
If you are still waiting for a written outcome and your employer has questions, they can refer to Department’s website here for confirmation that you are allowed to continue working for them until a decision has been made.
3. If Your Request Was Submitted After the Six-Month Period
If you submit your request for permission to work beyond six months after the initial six-month period has passed, you must cease working until you receive the outcome of your request.
