In February 2022, the Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation launched the Colin Biggers & Paisley Indigenous Cadetship Program. The program forms part of our Indigenous Engagement Strategy, which seeks to increase employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within the field of law and business services. This year, we welcomed our second cadet, Grace Slatyer.

We recently sat down with Grace to discuss her cadetship experience working within the Pro Bono team:

"The cadetship has provided me with an opportunity to apply my legal study to real-life experiences and situations. Working within the pro bono team has allowed me to contribute to improving access to justice for people who are marginalised and disadvantaged."

Our STAND UP FOR RIZEUP challenge officially finished on Monday with the team of 71 participants from all three offices walking, hiking, and running 88,000 steps over 8 days to raise funds for RizeUp Australia.

We are thrilled to announce that we have raised over $25,500 for RizeUp - an incredible result!

Whilst this was a team effort, we would like to recognise the top individual fundraisers Yasemin Sargin, Tim Coghlan, Natasha Ockenden, Lisa Bull and Natasha Chand who all raised over $900 each!

The top three team fundraisers, were the Sydney Office Services team who raised a massive $2,830 followed by the Team BCM (Brand, Clients and Markets/Better Call (a) Medic) with $1,990 and the Sydney Insurance team Footloose with $1,476.

This is an incredible effort by everyone involved and all money raised will go towards supporting RizeUp's Homes Program. This program sets up and furnishes the homes sourced by specialist services to support women and children who are fleeing from a violent household. When a family leaves a refuge, RizeUp furnishes their new accommodation with everything they need to make it a home, so they can make a fresh start.

Thank you to everyone who signed up to participate, and to everyone who donated and supported the challenge!

The Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation's major fundraiser STAND UP FOR RIZEUP challenge starts today. Over the next 8 days, our participants will be walking, hiking and running 88,000 steps to raise funds for RizeUp Australia.

We have already raised over $6000 for RizeUp Australia! This is a fantastic start but we still have a way to go to reach our $40,000 goal. To help us reach our goal, for the next four days the Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation will match all donations made, up to $4,000.

You can support the challenge here https://www.mycause.com.au/events/standupforrizeup

We wish our virtual walkers the very best of luck, let the steps begin!

Today we remember the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli during World War I.

As well as remembering the incredible sacrifice of the ANZACs, we also extend our remembrance and respect to all the men and women who served and died in war and on operational service, past and present.

Lest we forget.

Every year the Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation runs a Final Hour Appeal offering the opportunity for our people to donate the final hour of their working day for the year to our major charity partner. We are delighted to announce that the 2022 Final Hour and Christmas gift appeal has raised $19,663 for RizeUp Australia's Homes Program.

The program provides vulnerable women and children impacted by domestic and family violence, with fast, safe, flexible housing solutions.

Thank you to our colleagues for their support and contribution to the appeal.
