🇦🇺 Planning to study in Australia and bring your family with you?
Make sure you understand the latest Student Visa family rules before you apply.

Australia’s Student Visa rules are changing, and for many international students, bringing family members may no longer be as straightforward as before.

But there are important exemptions.

Depending on your level of study, nationality and individual circumstances, different rules may apply — including exemptions for certain PhD students and eligible students from specified countries.

So if you’re planning to study in Australia, apply for an Australian Student Visa, or hope to bring your spouse, partner or dependent children to Australia, it’s important to check the rules that apply specifically to your situation before making plans.

This may be particularly relevant if you are researching Australia Student Visa 2026, studying in Australia with family, Student Visa dependants, Student Visa spouse, subsequent entrant visa, PhD in Australia, Australian universities, international students in Australia, Australian visa requirements, Australia study visa, family visa Australia, dependent visa Australia, apply for Australia, apply for Australian Student Visa, or Australian immigration changes.

💬 Want to know if one of the exemptions may apply to you? Comment 👇INTERESTED👇 below and we’ll respond.

📌 Save this Reel if you’re considering Australia for your studies, and share it with someone planning to study in Australia with their family.

🇦🇺 Living in Australia and not sure what your next visa option is?

With the new Australian visa rules and recent migration updates, many temporary visa holders are asking the same questions:

What happens when my current visa expires?

Can I extend my visa or apply for another visa in Australia?

Do I have an employer sponsorship option?

Could a work visa, skilled visa or PR pathway be available to me?

What happens if I need a Bridging Visa while another Australian visa application is being processed?

Depending on your individual circumstances, there may be different pathways to consider — including the Skills in Demand 482 visa, Employer Sponsored 186 visa, Training 407 visa, Temporary Graduate 485 visa, Skilled 189 visa, State Nominated 190 visa, Regional 491 visa, or other Australian visa options.

The right pathway depends on factors such as your current visa, occupation, work experience, qualifications, employer sponsorship, skills assessment, age, English level and visa conditions.

If you're already living in Australia and your visa is expiring soon, don't wait until the last minute to understand your options.

Have Two Bridging Visas in Australia? Which One Is Active? 🇦🇺

If you’re currently living in Australia and have been granted more than one Bridging Visa, it’s important to understand which visa is actually in effect and what conditions apply to you.

In some circumstances, a more beneficial Bridging Visa may come into effect — for example, where different visa conditions or work rights apply. But every case depends on the visas granted, their commencement rules and the specific conditions attached to them.

If you’re on a Bridging Visa A (BVA), Bridging Visa B (BVB) or another Australian bridging visa, don’t assume that every bridging visa you have been granted is currently active. Your work rights, visa conditions and current in-effect visa should always be checked carefully.

You can check your current visa details and conditions through VEVO.

🇨🇦 New Canada Immigration Update for Venezuelan Passport Holders

Planning to create an Express Entry profile or submit a Canadian permanent residence application with an expired Venezuelan passport?

IRCC updated its official Express Entry document guidance on October 2, 2026.

A Venezuelan passport issued before June 7, 2019 may still be accepted for Express Entry if:

✅ It has been expired for less than five years
✅ Five additional years would not extend its total validity beyond ten years
✅ The applicant enters the adjusted expiry date in the application
✅ A Letter of Explanation is provided when submitting the permanent residence application

However:
❌ If the passport has been expired for five years or longer, it cannot be used
❌ An expired passport issued on or after June 7, 2019, does not qualify for this extension
❌ A new passport or another acceptable travel document will be required in these situations
This update concerns the acceptance of travel documents only. It does not provide additional CRS points or guarantee an Express Entry invitation or permanent residence approval.

Would you like your eligibility and documents reviewed for Express Entry or Canadian permanent residence?

If you hold a Bridging Visa C (BVC), it’s important to know that it does not give you permission to travel outside Australia and return. You also cannot obtain a Bridging Visa B simply because you need to travel while holding a BVC.

A Bridging Visa B (BVB) can provide eligible Bridging Visa A or existing Bridging Visa B holders with permission to leave Australia and return within the approved travel period.

If you’re currently in Australia on a Bridging Visa C, make sure you understand your visa conditions before booking or planning any overseas travel.

🇨🇦 NEW CANADA IMMIGRATION UPDATE — BRITISH COLUMBIA

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) issued 714 new invitations on September 24, 2026, through its Innovate: High Economic Impact selection.

The invitations were issued through two selection routes:

🔹 426 invitations were issued to eligible candidates with:
• A job offer in NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3
• A minimum wage of $52 per hour
• Minimum annual earnings of $105,000
🔹 288 invitations were issued through a points-based selection with a minimum score of 131.
Compared with the previous high-economic-impact draw, the minimum wage, annual salary and points thresholds were slightly lower.

If you are currently living or working in British Columbia, including Vancouver, Surrey, Burnaby or other B.C. communities, and have a skilled job offer, this latest BC PNP draw may be relevant to your Canadian immigration planning.

Please note that the score of 131 applied only to the points-based group—not all 714 candidates. This was a provincial invitation round, not a general federal Express Entry or Canada visa draw. Receiving an invitation or provincial nomination does not guarantee Canadian permanent residence.

Want to know whether your occupation, B.C. job offer, wage and profile may meet the current criteria?
