You’ve seen the kitchen, checked out the backyard and pictured where the furniture might go. 🏡

But there are some things you simply can’t see at an inspection.

That’s where a title search comes in.

A title search provides important information about the property, including:

🔎 Who the registered owners are
🔎 Details about the land or unit
🔎 Easements or restrictions affecting the property
🔎 Mortgages registered on the title
🔎 Any caveats that may be in place

It’s all part of understanding the property beyond what you can see and making sure you know what you’re buying before moving forward.

Your conveyancer can review the title and other contract documents, explain what they mean and flag anything that may need a closer look.

Settlement day is finally here! 🏡🔑

And then comes the waiting… 👀

When you’ve spent weeks getting to this point, it’s completely understandable to watch the clock and wonder what’s happening behind the scenes.

The good news? There’s usually not much you need to do.

Your conveyancer will be across the process, coordinating with the parties involved and keeping an eye on settlement as it progresses. And if things don’t happen exactly on the dot, don’t panic. A small delay doesn’t necessarily mean something has gone wrong.

So, what should you be doing?

Keep your phone nearby and wait for the best update of the day: settlement is complete and it’s time to get the keys! 🔑
