The Department of Home Affairs has just released the new Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL) today, 3 December 2024! 🎉

This updated list includes 456 occupations eligible for the Temporary Work (Skilled) Visa 482 and the Permanent Work (Skilled) Visa 186 – Direct Entry stream. Many new roles have been added, opening up fantastic opportunities for applicants who were previously limited to regional visa options. 🌟

Some of the new occupations now available across all parts of Australia include:
• Child Care Worker 👶
• Office Manager 🏢
• Beauty Therapist 💆‍♀️
• Yoga Instructor 🧘
• …and many more!

What’s more, these occupations now qualify for the Permanent Work Sponsored Visa 186 under the Direct Entry stream. This is a game-changer for those seeking a direct path to permanent residency! 🇦🇺

📢 Big news for holders of a Subclass 482 Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa! Starting from November 25, 2023, there's a new way for you to get permanent residency in Australia. Here's what you need to know:

- If you have a Subclass 482 TSS visa, you may be able to able to apply for a permanent visa sponsored by your employer, after 2 years.

- The time you need to qualify for this permanent visa has been reduced from three years to just two years.

- You are not limited to have a specific occupation on the Medium-term skilled list.

- If you're on a short-term stream TSS visa, there's no limit to how many times you can apply for it while you're in Australia.

- For regional medical doctors and high-income earners over 45 years old, you can now qualify for the permanent visa in just two years, instead of three.

Remember, these changes started on November 25, 2023, and they apply to new applications for permanent employer-sponsored visas and to those applications that haven't been finalised by that date.

📣 Update on the 491 Regional Skilled Visa in NSW! 🌟

NSW announced TWO pathways for the 491 visa:

🛤️ Pathway 1: Direct Application with NSW

· If you have been living and working in regional NSW for at least 12 months, and
· Have been working with the same employer for at least 12 months,
· After the date you are legally “deemed skilled”, and
· Have been working in your nominated (or closely related) occupation, and
· Are being paid a minimum salary of $70,000 (pro rata if you are working under 38 hours per week),
and
· Can meet all the other usual requirements.

If yes, this pathway is for you!

🛤️ Pathway 2: Invitation by NSW

If you are not eligible to submit a Nomination application with NSW for a 491 visa under Pathway 1, you may want to try being invited under Pathway 2.

• You must have been residing in NSW for a minimum of 3 consecutive months, or if you are currently offshore you must have been offshore for at least 3 months.

📢 Important Reminder for Student Visa Holders! 🇦🇺

Just a friendly reminder for our student visa holders in Australia. As of July 1, 2023, some changes were implemented regarding work restrictions:

🕒 Since July 1, 2023, student visa holders can work for a maximum of 48 hours per fortnight while their course or training are in session.

📚 During these periods, please keep in mind these work restrictions. However, the good news is that when your course or training are not in session, there are no work restrictions. You can utilize this time to gain valuable work experience during your breaks!

🌟 These changes were put in place to help you concentrate on obtaining a quality Australian education while contributing to Australia's workforce needs.

🦠 A bit of context: work restrictions were initially relaxed during the pandemic and completely removed in January 2022 to address workforce shortages. However, it's important to note that this change came to an end as of June 30, 2023.
