NEW YEAR, NEW NAME

We recently celebrated a milestone moment when our Senior Associate Holly married her long term partner (and valued LL after-hours support guy) Johnny Grujovski.

She's been a member of the team for so long you'd be forgiven for thinking her last name was Ledlin, but Holly Jackson is now known as Holly Grujovski!

She'll still be providing the same great advice to our clients, just with a different surname so keep a lookout for more legal news and views from Holly G!

Five years ago yesterday we made a very special hire.

Who would’ve thought that the The Law Society of NSW pairing mentor Terry Ledlin with a recently admitted Holly Jackson would have resulted in a job offer and such a long lasting working relationship!

We’re grateful that the universe brought these two together and we’re looking forward to another five years of slam dunks with Holly!

Congratulations Holly on all of your career and personal growth in the last five years, we’re so proud to call you a Ledlin Lawyer!

It's been a while since we've been able to hang out as a team and even longer since we were able to cruise around Sydney Harbour with our friends at . Last Friday we were lucky enough to be able to do both!

We're feeling grateful for the small things in life: good weather, good company and a cold beer!

Would you know how to assist a co-worker who was experiencing a mental health problem?
One in five working Australians experience mental illness in any one year. Unfortunately, lawyers are at a higher risk than other professions for mental illnesses, partly due to a working environment that can be competitive, adversarial and often glorifies long hours.
If there's one thing 2020 has taught us, it's the importance of self care, looking after our mental health and checking in on those around us.
That's why, as a team, we decided to complete the Blended Mental Health First Aid Course for Australian Legal Professionals through and .
We learnt about why mental health illnesses are so prevalent in the legal industry, how to identify colleagues who may be experiencing mental health problem and how to approach those who might need assistance with their mental health.

We sometimes spend more time with our workmates than anyone else in our life - let's look out for them and help to create a healthier workplace.

At Ledlin Lawyers, organ and tissue donation is a cause that is very close to our hearts (no pun intended!)
26 July 2020 to 2 August 2020 is Donate Life Week 2020, designed to increase organ and tissue donation and transplant outcomes. There are around 1,700 people currently waitlisted for organ donation. Waiting times for a life changing organ donation are between 6 months to 4 years.
Aussies are world leaders in successful transplants – in 2019, the lives of 1,683 were saved and transformed by organ and tissue transplants. But every transplant relies on one major factor – the availability of a willing and compatible organ donor. The donation rate has more than doubled in recent years but there is still work to be done!
It’s essential to register your decision on the Australian Organ Donor Register. It’s even more essential to talk to your family about your decision to donate because they will be involved in every step of the process – even if you have registered your decision.
Quick myth busting exercise – you can no longer register to be an organ and tissue donor on your driver’s licence. You now need to join the Australian Organ Donor Register. It takes less than a minute to register – that’s less time than it takes to choose the next series you’re going to binge-watch on Netflix.
