⚠️ URGENT UPDATE: TEMPORARY TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS FOR VISITOR VISA HOLDERS WITH IRANIAN PASSPORTS ⚠️

The Australian Government has introduced an Arrival Control Determination effective 26 March 2026, in force for 6 months.

β›” WHO IS AFFECTED:
If you are currently outside Australia, hold a Visitor (Subclass 600) visa, and departmental records indicate you provided an Iranian passport when you applied for that visa β€” your Visitor visa has temporarily ceased to be in effect.

βœ… WHO IS NOT AFFECTED (EXEMPTIONS):
The Arrival Control Determination does NOT apply to:
βˆ™ People already in Australia when the Determination commenced
βˆ™ The spouse, de facto partner, or dependent child of an Australian citizen, permanent visa holder, or Australian resident not subject to a time limitation
βˆ™ Parents of a child under 18 already in Australia
βˆ™ A person who has been issued with a valid Permitted Travel Certificate
βˆ™ A person holding any other visa

πŸͺͺ PERMITTED TRAVEL CERTIFICATES:
A small number of impacted people may still travel to Australia if issued with a Permitted Travel Certificate. Requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and can be made through the Arrival Control Determination Portal on the Home Affairs website. Sympathetic consideration will be given to cases involving parents of Australian citizens.

✈️ ALREADY EN ROUTE?
Impacted travellers who began their trip to Australia before the Determination came into effect, including those transiting in a third country for less than 24 hours, will generally be issued a Permitted Travel Certificate automatically.

πŸ“‹ VISA APPLICATIONS:
The Arrival Control Determination does not prevent people outside Australia from applying for a new visa. Applications already lodged, as well as new applications, will continue to be assessed on their merits.
