We're proud to support the Rhinos Comets netball team in Grafton, including our own Grace Ford, who is part of our Family Law team. Rhinos Comets plays in the local A grade competition and recently finished Runner's Up in the Open Division at the "Day for Liv" carnival. An event that raises awareness for sarcoma and supporting important community causes.

What happens when you buy off-the-plan, wait years for completion, and the developer then tries to walk away because the build wasn't finished in time?

That was the question before the Supreme Court of Queensland in a recent decision involving the Chevron One Apartments development on the Gold Coast โ€“ and the answer was a resounding win for buyers. (https://www.sclqld.org.au/caselaw/163599)

CJM Lawyers acted for one of the buyers in successfully disputing the developerโ€™s right to terminate and the ๐ฆ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐š๐ ๐ž ๐ข๐ฌ ๐œ๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐ซ:

If a developer sends you a sunset clause termination notice, do not assume your contract is over. The specific wording of your contract matters, and timely legal advice can make a real difference when a major investment is on the line.

Today, we recognised Daffodil Day and stood alongside individuals, families and communities impacted by cancer.

Daffodil Day is an opportunity to raise awareness and support the vital work being undertaken in cancer research, prevention and patient care. We're proud to support initiatives that help build stronger, healthier communities and honour the resilience of those affected by cancer.

Across all our offices, team members came together for yellow morning teas, bringing a plate to share, wearing a touch of yellow and taking part in a meaningful day of fundraising and support.
