The Suncoast Community Legal Service Inc main office and law clinic is based in Maroochydore, Queensland and offers quality legal advice, referral information and education free-of-charge to the greater Sunshine Coast community. Services are delivered by volunteer lawyers from the local legal profession, working in conjunction with volunteer receptionists and a small team of paid staff. Suncoast C

🌸 Supporting the Next Generation of Women in Law 🌸

It was a pleasure to attend the recent UniSC Student Law Association Women’s Breakfast, bringing together students and members of the Sunshine Coast legal profession to connect, learn and support the next generation of lawyers.

Thank you to the outstanding panelists, Rachel Martin (Special Counsel, Argon Law), Jahna Café (Solicitor, ATSILS), Meg Lucas (Senior Associate, Thompson Legal) and Natalie Legge (Family Lawyer, Catton & Tondelstrand Family Lawyers), who generously shared their career journeys, insights and advice. Their stories highlighted that there is no single path to success in law and that the most rewarding careers are often guided by purpose, values and a desire to make a positive difference.

SCLS proudly attended the Aunty Betty Memorial Reconciliation Walk, recognising the importance of reconciliation and strengthening community connections.

It was wonderful to connect with our partner services, share information about our referral pathways, and learn about other support services available within the community.

National Reconciliation Week provides an important opportunity to reflect on our shared history, celebrate the cultures and contributions of our First Nation peoples, and strengthen our commitment to building respectful relationships and a more inclusive future for all Australians.
