The Graduate visa is probably the most misunderstood stage in the Australian migration journey.

It's temporary, it has a fixed end date, and what you do during it shapes almost everything that comes after. It's not a waiting room β€” it's a window. For anyone who wants to understand how to use it well, we offer one-on-one consultation calls.

Our DMs are open whenever you're ready.

General info only. Not migration advice. Speak to a Registered Migration Agent for your case.

πŸ‘‰ The 482 is now officially called the Skills in Demand Visa.

The former TSS visa has been restructured and renamed as the Skills in Demand Visa (Subclass 482).

It's a temporary visa β€” up to 4 years β€” that allows full-time work in Australia under an approved employer sponsorship arrangement.

If the eligibility requirements are met later down the line, it can open a pathway to Permanent Residency through the Subclass 186.

πŸ‘‰ Comment SPONSOR to assess whether your occupation qualifies.

Your 485 isn't your PR. But it might be your best shot at reaching it. πŸ‘‡

This is the stage where the groundwork actually gets laid:

βœ… Building Australian work experience in your field
βœ… Improving your English test scores
βœ… Developing a genuine relationship (if that's your pathway)

The biggest mistake people make during a 485 isn't not knowing what to do.

It's not starting.

Every week you put it off is a week you could have been moving forward.

πŸ‘‰ Comment 485 to connect with a Registered Migration Agent and take the first step toward your PR pathway.

Who actually pays the SAF levy on a 482 β€” the employee or the employer?

The Skilling Australians Fund levy is a cost associated with the nomination process for Subclass 482. Sponsor obligation rules restrict how certain visa-related costs can be allocated between the employer and the worker β€” so this isn't simply a matter of whoever agrees to pay.

Comment 482 to book a migration consultation with a Registered Migration Agent.

A lot of Graduate visa holders leave the review of what comes next until the final stretch.

By then, options that would have been straightforward with more runway may no longer fit the timeline. If you'd like to talk through your situation with our team while there's still room to move properly, our consultation calls are open.

Just send us a message.

πŸ‘‰ Could your employer in Australia actually sponsor you for a 482 visa?

If you're already working somewhere and your employer values what you bring, that working relationship might be closer to a migration pathway than you think.

It doesn't matter whether you arrived on a Student visa or a Working Holiday visa.

What does matter:
βœ” Whether your occupation is eligible
βœ” Whether your employer is willing to go through the process
βœ” Whether you meet the visa requirements

Thousands of people make this transition every year β€” but most never even start the conversation with their boss.

πŸ‘‰ Comment SPONSOR to assess your sponsorship potential.

482 Visa Evidence: Quality Matters More Than Volume

In a Subclass 482 visa process, evidence is not about sending as many documents as possible.

Migration may assess whether the evidence is relevant, consistent and clearly connected to the nominated role, ANZSCO occupation, employer requirements and business need.

Adding unnecessary or poorly organised documents can make the application harder to assess, instead of making it stronger.

πŸ’¬ Comment SPONSOR and book your appointment with one of our migration agents to review whether your occupation and role could align with a sponsored visa pathway.

485 Visa Employment: Why Salary Can Matter

When building a pathway after a 485 visa, your employment evidence should not only show that you worked.

Salary, job duties, occupation alignment and employment conditions may all help demonstrate whether the work is genuinely skilled and relevant to your migration strategy.

A low salary or unclear role structure can raise questions about whether the position properly reflects skilled employment.

πŸ’¬ Comment 485 and book your appointment with one of our migration agents to review your post-study visa options, employment evidence and possible migration pathways.
