☕ Coffee & Connections

Yesterday's Coffee & Connections breakfast was another fantastic opportunity to bring together family law professionals and practitioners working across the domestic violence and child protection sectors on the Gold Coast.

These regular catch-ups are all about building relationships, sharing perspectives, supporting one another, and strengthening the networks that help us better serve our community.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the thoughtful and meaningful discussions. We are grateful for the collaboration and commitment shown by this incredible group of professionals and look forward to the next Coffee & Connections event.

A fantastic few days on the Gold Coast attending the Stand Up Speak Out Elder Abuse Conference, with members of our legal and social work teams coming together to learn, connect and strengthen our knowledge in this critical area of practice.

From thought-provoking presentations and discussions on prevention and intervention strategies, to valuable insights from sector leaders and lived experience perspectives, the conference highlighted the importance of a collaborative approach to addressing elder abuse.

As a service provider, staying informed about emerging trends, legislative developments and best-practice responses is essential. Opportunities like this help ensure we continue to provide informed, compassionate and effective support for clients navigating complex elder abuse matters.

Thank you Elder Abuse Action Australia for a superb event!

A huge thank you to the City of Gold Coast for their generous grant support, which has enabled GCCLC to purchase and install an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at our office.

With more than 3,000 clients accessing our services each year, it is important that we provide the safest possible environment for everyone who walks through our doors, including clients, staff, volunteers and visitors. Having an AED on site means we are better prepared to respond in the event of a cardiac emergency, where every minute can make a critical difference.

An AED is a simple, life-saving device designed to assist someone experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. Early access to defibrillation can significantly improve survival outcomes, making publicly accessible AEDs an important part of community safety.

We are incredibly grateful to the City of Gold Coast for supporting initiatives that help keep our community safe and well. This funding has allowed us to strengthen our emergency preparedness and ensure that potentially life-saving equipment is readily available when it is needed most.

Thank you, City of Gold Coast, for investing in the health and wellbeing of our community. ❤️

☕🤝 Coffee & Connections – Building Stronger Professional Relationships on the Gold Coast

Last week, we had the pleasure of bringing together local Gold Coast family law professionals for another wonderful Coffee & Connections morning.

These informal gatherings provide a valuable opportunity for family lawyers and professionals working across the family law, domestic violence, and child protection sectors to connect, share insights, strengthen professional relationships, and support one another in the important work we do every day.

By fostering collaboration and building strong networks within our local community, we can better support individuals and families facing some of life's most challenging circumstances. Together, we are committed to ensuring those experiencing family law, domestic violence, and child protection issues have access to the guidance, advocacy, and support they need.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such meaningful conversations. We look forward to continuing to grow these connections and working together to make a positive difference across the Gold Coast community.

Through our services, we help provide critical access to justice and support people to navigate the legal process during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

We remain dedicated to ensuring people feel heard, informed, empowered, and supported every step of the way.

Despite the wet and rainy start to the day, our recent Coffee & Connections breakfast for Gold Coast family lawyers was a wonderful morning ☕️🌧️

It was fantastic to see local practitioners still come along to connect, a testament to the strength and collaboration within our community. Bringing together professionals from private practice, the CLC sector, and Legal Aid creates a valuable space to share insights, learn from one another, and build meaningful relationships.

Opportunities like these are so important in fostering a collaborative approach, ultimately helping us better support the clients and families we assist.

Thank you to everyone who braved the weather to join us - we’re already looking forward to the next one!
