At GCCLC, this commitment is reflected in the support we provide to our community every day through our legal and social services.

Since 1 July 2025, more than 50% of our clients have identified as being at risk of, or experiencing, domestic and family violence. Through our services, we help provide critical access to justice and support people to navigate the legal process during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

We remain dedicated to ensuring people feel heard, informed, empowered, and supported every step of the way.

✨ We had a wonderful evening attending the Family Law Pathways Network Gala Dinner! ✨

It was a truly lovely event, with inspiring guest speakers sharing valuable insights and highlighting the important work being done across our community.

The evening also provided a great opportunity to connect with fellow organisations and dedicated professionals working in the family law and domestic violence space across the Gold Coast. It’s always so meaningful to come together, share experiences, and strengthen the networks that support the families we serve.

A big thank you to the organisers for such a well-run and enjoyable night!

Despite the wet and rainy start to the day, our recent Coffee & Connections breakfast for Gold Coast family lawyers was a wonderful morning ☕️🌧️

It was fantastic to see local practitioners still come along to connect, a testament to the strength and collaboration within our community. Bringing together professionals from private practice, the CLC sector, and Legal Aid creates a valuable space to share insights, learn from one another, and build meaningful relationships.

Opportunities like these are so important in fostering a collaborative approach, ultimately helping us better support the clients and families we assist.

Thank you to everyone who braved the weather to join us - we’re already looking forward to the next one!

We were honoured to be invited by Power Nadeshiko to share insights into the work we do at the Gold Coast Community Legal Centre, as part of their focus on “Abuse to Other Family Members.”

During the interview, our team discussed the legal dimensions of elder abuse and domestic and family violence. These forms of harm can have profound impacts, and it’s vital they are recognised as part of the broader picture of abuse.

We also highlighted the services we provide and how individuals experiencing domestic and family violence can access support through our centre.

A big thank you to Power Nadeshiko for creating space for these important conversations and helping raise awareness in our community.

We’re thrilled to share the success of our very first Coffee & Connection Breakfast.

This new initiative brings together Gold Coast family lawyers to connect, build relationships, and learn more about who we are within our local legal and community support network. It was fantastic to see over 20 professionals attend, all sharing a common goal of strengthening collaboration within our community.

The morning was filled with meaningful conversations, new introductions, and a genuine sense of connection across the local family law sector. Creating opportunities like this helps us work more closely together to better support the people and families in our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and contributed to such a positive and welcoming atmosphere.

✨ This is just the beginning — more Coffee & Connection breakfasts will be happening throughout the year, and we look forward to seeing even more of our local colleagues there.
