We are a community legal centre situated on the Gold Coast Queensland. We provide free legal advice and assistance across the entire Gold Coast

We provide FREE legal advice to the entire Gold Coast with face to face, telephone and video appointments available at our three offices located in Southport, Kirra and Ormeau. We also have an after hours advice clinic each Tuesday evening from 5pm. Our solicitors advise in various areas of law. We are an appointment only service so phone 55329611 to find out if we can assist you and to make an appointment. Mission Statement

Last Thursday, GCCLC was pleased to attend the Gold Coast Centre Against Sexual Violence’s Start By Believing Breakfast.

The event featured thought-provoking panel discussions that highlighted the importance of listening to, supporting and believing people who disclose experiences of sexual violence.

As October marks Sexual Violence Awareness Month, the breakfast was a meaningful way to acknowledge the month’s commencement, reflect on the impact of sexual violence in our community, and reinforce our collective commitment to prevention, education and support.

Thank you to the Gold Coast Centre Against Sexual Violence for bringing the community together for this important conversation.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of attending a morning tea hosted by the newly launched Northern Gold Coast Medicare Mental Health Centre

The event provided a great opportunity to meet the Centre's team, take a tour of the facility, and learn more about the range of services that will soon be available to support the community's mental health and wellbeing.

It was also wonderful to connect with other organisations working across the health and community sectors, including Open Minds, Bravehearts, Wesley Mission, Aurora Healthcare and many others. Opportunities like these help strengthen relationships between services and ensure we can work collaboratively to connect people with the support they need.

Congratulations to the Northern Gold Coast Mental Health Centre on this exciting milestone. We look forward to seeing the positive impact the Centre will have for members of our community.

✨ Last week, we had the privilege of attending the Multicultural Families Organisation's 30th Anniversary Gala Dinner. What a fantastic evening celebrating three decades of service, support, and impact in our community.

The night was filled with incredible cultural performances, powerful stories, and heartfelt speeches that reflected the diversity, resilience, and strength of the communities MFO serves. It was a wonderful opportunity to recognise the organisation's rich history and the many people who have contributed to its success over the past 30 years.

Congratulations to the Multicultural Families Organisation on this significant milestone. Thank you for the important work you do every day to support multicultural families across our region. Here's to the next chapter of making a difference in our community! 🎉🌏

We were pleased to join Community Legal Centres Queensland yesterday to meet with Rob Molhoek MP and discuss the recent Parliamentary Inquiry into Elder Abuse.

The need for action has never been clearer. In the past 12 months alone, GCCLC has experienced a more than 50% increase in elder abuse matters, highlighting the growing demand for specialist legal assistance and support for older people in our community.

Behind every statistic is a person, a family and a story. We are committed to continuing to advocate for improved services, stronger protections and greater access to justice for older people on the Gold Coast.

Thank you to Rob Molhoek MP and Community Legal Centres Queensland for the opportunity to have these important conversations and work towards meaningful change.

What a great day yesterday connecting with fellow CLC admin leaders!

Throughout the year, our Admin Manager has been regularly catching up with administration leaders from other Community Legal Centres in SEQ to collaborate, share ideas, build networks, and learn from one another. While these meetings have mostly been online, it was fantastic to finally come together in person.

A huge thanks to HUB Community Legal RAILS - Refugee and Immigration Legal Service and Tasc Community Legal Centre for making the trip and helping strengthen these valuable connections. Unfortunately, YFS Legal couldn't join us this time, but we hope to catch up with them soon.

There's so much value in learning from each other and supporting one another across the sector.

☕ Coffee & Connections

Yesterday's Coffee & Connections breakfast was another fantastic opportunity to bring together family law professionals and practitioners working across the domestic violence and child protection sectors on the Gold Coast.

These regular catch-ups are all about building relationships, sharing perspectives, supporting one another, and strengthening the networks that help us better serve our community.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the thoughtful and meaningful discussions. We are grateful for the collaboration and commitment shown by this incredible group of professionals and look forward to the next Coffee & Connections event.

A fantastic few days on the Gold Coast attending the Stand Up Speak Out Elder Abuse Conference, with members of our legal and social work teams coming together to learn, connect and strengthen our knowledge in this critical area of practice.

From thought-provoking presentations and discussions on prevention and intervention strategies, to valuable insights from sector leaders and lived experience perspectives, the conference highlighted the importance of a collaborative approach to addressing elder abuse.

As a service provider, staying informed about emerging trends, legislative developments and best-practice responses is essential. Opportunities like this help ensure we continue to provide informed, compassionate and effective support for clients navigating complex elder abuse matters.

A huge thank you to the City of Gold Coast for their generous grant support, which has enabled GCCLC to purchase and install an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at our office.

With more than 3,000 clients accessing our services each year, it is important that we provide the safest possible environment for everyone who walks through our doors, including clients, staff, volunteers and visitors. Having an AED on site means we are better prepared to respond in the event of a cardiac emergency, where every minute can make a critical difference.

An AED is a simple, life-saving device designed to assist someone experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. Early access to defibrillation can significantly improve survival outcomes, making publicly accessible AEDs an important part of community safety.

We are incredibly grateful to the City of Gold Coast for supporting initiatives that help keep our community safe and well. This funding has allowed us to strengthen our emergency preparedness and ensure that potentially life-saving equipment is readily available when it is needed most.

🎉 We are proud to announce that our Family Law and DFV Solicitors, Grace Hallewell and Megan Farmer, have been selected to present at the Stop Domestic Violence Conference in Canberra in November 2026.
