Today is World Mental Health Day (WMHD). Each year the global campaign adopts a theme to focus on. This year the theme is 'It is Time to Prioritise Mental Health in the Workplace'

Fittingly, the Queensland Law Society hosted a Mental Health Breakfast to which some of our lawyers attended.

The panel spoke to vicarious trauma, how to support colleagues, and a reminder to look after ourselves. It was a fantastic opportunity to acknowledge the WMHD theme!

R U OK

We use day this day to celebrate the message that these four letters deliver. It’s a reminder to take a moment to check in with someone.

As an organisation that works with some of the most vulnerable persons in our community, we are regularly unpacking uncomfortable and sensitive information from lived-experiences.

We pride ourselves on being particularly alert to asking how a client or relevant party is feeling, and referring them to support services. Sometimes a person doesn’t even need that - they just need a conversation to make them feel like someone cares.

Use today to remember the importance of asking how someone’s going. It could make a huge difference in a persons day!

We have cookies and cupcakes for anyone wanting to pop in and have a chat to any of our friendly staff. We have plenty of referrals and willing conversationalists available in both offices.
