DFG Legal recently joined Westcycle and other sponsors at the Perth Criterium race around the streets of Northbridge. It was a very warm day for riders and exceptional racing from all ages. It was especially nice to see all the young children having an opportunity to take to the road and have a go.

What interest does DFG Legal have in cycling you might ask, well our Helene Long’s son is a track cyclist and has been involved in cycling for about 4 1/2 years.

DFG Legal has been proud to be a minor sponsor at the event which was held at Yes Please Perth where drinks and canapes were enjoyed whilst watching some of Perth’s finest cyclists.

Interesting fact about our Ms Helen Platell, solicitor:

A Specialised School for Youth known as SASY is an Independent School in the Adelaide CBD that assists young people 14-25 years old, who are dealing with mental health issues and trauma, to re-engage with education. I am privileged to be part of this endeavour as a Board Director and support the much-needed learning environment that is safe and supportive of student well-being at its core.

The Mural entitled, “A Beautiful Life” was created by Mali Isabel, an Araban and Kokatha artist for the first Reconciliation Action Plan of SASY.

This Artwork includes a large meeting place representing the SASY school community in the Adelaide CBD. Each human symbol placed around the meeting places are all different colours and sizes to represent the individuality of each student and their unique needs. Animal tracks can be seen making their way and coming together at these meeting places to support the growth and inclusivity of the students. Waterhole symbols are scattered across the canvas to symbolise pockets of calm spaces, whether it be to take deep breaths, or taking a moment to simply be.
