Despite an extraordinary property market cycle, women still trail men in home ownership. However, the gap has narrowed slightly since January 2022.

Here are a few of CoreLogic’s interesting findings:

· Women own about 3% fewer properties than men;

· 2022 saw a slight increase in female home ownership and a decline in mixed-gender ownership;

· Investment properties are a key area of disparity, with men owning 7% more than women;

· Interestingly, women lead in medium to high-density property ownership. This has implications for the gender wealth gap since detached houses typically yield higher long-term gains.

CoreLogic’s findings highlight the ongoing journey towards gender parity in home ownership in our country.

Brisbane median home price record smashed in June 🏡

Brisbane has a fresh record home price, firming itself as the second most expensive capital to buy a dwelling in after its median hit $840,000.

Prices have jumped 14.14pc compared to the same time last year, according to the latest PropTrack Home Price Index released Monday.

National home prices have cycled through 18 consecutive months of growth despite interest rates remaining at this high level and have gone on to hit another fresh price peak in June.

A young couple we've recently serviced had attended more than 32 open homes in the past year and still weren’t able to secure a home.

In this time, they had lodged many expressions of interest and had been the under bidders at a handful of auctions.

In this time they expressed their annoyance with the continues price increases of properties in and around Brisbane. Highlighting that properties they initially lost out on by $10,000 - $20,000 have now been re-listed for over $85,000 more.

After all this, they ended up engaging us and we're proud to announce they are now home owners in Lutwyche!
