I wonder what he’s thinking right now?

Almost 40 years ago one of my first real estate bosses had this framed image outside his office in Albert Park. I never liked it because I didn’t think it was true and probably because at 18 getting that old wasn’t an option. In the years to follow we had 1987 Black Monday, “The Recession We Had to Have” 1991, Tech Bubble bursting in late 90’s and even worse the 2008 Financial Crisis. Now we Albo and the muppets setting up the next speed humps in Canberra 🤔

At age 21, one of my colleagues and one of the legendary good guys of Victorian real estate the late John Holdsworth said Rob “stop waiting to save a couple of %, just go buy a one bedroom apartment today and every time you get enough money for a deposit go buy another. When you get to 40 you will have a portfolio and be wealthy”.

So today I think of John & the old man 😢 Not because I managed to get to 40 without one investment property 🤣 but because it’s the same old,
same old 👴
