With the Greater Shepparton Basketball Tournament being held this weekend our community has an opportunity to shine some light on the dire need to upgrade the Shepparton Stadium sporting and event facilities for the benefit of all those in the Greater Shepparton area.

Improving and upgrading the Shepparton Stadium will have community wide benefits by providing everyone within our region:
* with a safe and inclusive location for a multitude of sports (think basketball, indoor netball, badminton, soccer, volleyball etc);
* developing facilities to support and promote all ability and cultural participation (turn your mind to the current lack of accessibility of the current stadium facilities for participating in and spectating for sports and events); and
* a community hub for not only sporting events, but a place to host music and the arts or provide safety or a meeting spot in the event of a community impacting incident (eg the floods).

Hopefully the community of Greater Shepparton can rally via this petition, social media and by generally making some noise to see local and state governments work together to invest in the health and well-being of our community and commit to making the Shepparton Stadium and sports precinct an inclusive and safe place for all those who love their community.

Just a little update from JKL.
From 01 July 2021 Jaimi King Legal will operate 3 days per week being Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. If you call the office, please listen to the voicemail & leave a msg so your query can be returned at the earliest opportunity.
For the interim period Jaimi King Legal will not be taking on new clients so Jaimi can focus her full attention on delivering the current workload and invest some much needed time into the business, her family and herself. For those with current matters rest assured - your matters will remain prioritised and attended by Jaimi on their necessary schedules. (If things “have” to happen on a Monday and Friday - they will).
We look forward to what the future holds for Jaimi King Legal and thank those who have supported and continue to support our business and family as we navigate this period ⭐️

Thank you to all those who have shown their support and shared their stories and experiences with me (both publicly and privately) on mental health and burn out in response to my recent video on the topic. While I may not be able to respond to you all (I am trying) - I am grateful for the confidence, support, guidance and strength you have all shown and I am truly overwhelmed by the support and shared experiences. I am looking forward to the recovery and using new found energy and strength to help those who are also addressing the same concerns with their personal and mental health. In the meantime, keep having the conversation, check in regularly with both yourself and others and never be afraid to ask for help. With love and thanks Jaimi

In conjunction with the Shepparton Football Netball Club - Jaimi King Legal is delighted to announce the brand new “CUBS CLUB Membership”. The initiative has been developed by JKL & the SFNC to encourage families and young members to get involved with the club for social and sporting reasons. Children aged 0-12 years are encouraged to join. For $15 (or $25 with a beanie) our cubs will enjoy the benefits of a entry card that shouts them a free lolly bag & softdrink each SFNC home game, a sticker, badge and poster pack, a birthday card plus other fun activities which may be announced thru the year. It’s a great way to support the club you love or get involved if you’re new to the community. Its also the perfect gift from grandparents, ex or current players for grandkids, kids, nieces and nephews! We look forward to seeing you all at the bear cave this season. I’m sharing this post for a variety of reasons - 1. to set the scene for some positive changes to JKL which should improve our client experience and our workplace and 2. because I’m becoming increasingly aware that many people are feeling exhausted from the last year. By throwing this out into the universe I hope it helps those who have been caught on the treadmill of life readjust the speed to a liveable pace & encourages positive home/workplace discussion & change. When I started JKL my primary goals were to develop a business which created an environment that allowed me the opportunity to watch my children grow and thrive, to create a workplace that truly embraced family and the relationships (both at work and home, for clients and staff) that make life in general wonderful and to provide professional legal advice and services in a manner people truly understand. While for the most part in our 3 years of operation we’ve been able to sustainably build our workplace & team to achieve those goals - it hasn’t gone without it’s sacrifices. Initially, I reasoned that the sacrifices being made (think time with my family, personal health & relationships at home & socially, late nights, early starts, weekends) were justifiable as I was “doing it for them” (my children, my husband, my family and friends).But come Christmas morning my 9 yo gave me this beautiful card & a thoughtful little gift she had picked. (Maddi gave me permission to share this card & is aware of this post). It reminded me that maybe I had lost sight of my goals and the things that make my life wonderful (family, health & relationships with others). It also reminded me that you cannot perform at your peak - when you are exhausted or unhappy. However Maddi’s note also triggered one of my favourite sayings that “you create you own happiness”. AND it’s now time to get creating my own and JKL’s happiness again. Over the next month we’ll introduce you to the new happiness for JKL. More energy. New roles for our incredible team (Laura & Amy).A brilliant new lawyer who has joined our ranks. Improved technology & refined services with our signature JKL style ❤️ we thank you all for your support over the years and we look forward to making Maddi’s Christmas wish come true ❤️
