⛳ Two of our solicitors Craig Oliver and Beverley Evans were proud to attend the recent PCYC Charity Golf Day alongside Matt Orreal and Patrick Thomson from Move Right Physiotherapy.
The day was a fantastic opportunity to connect with local businesses while supporting the incredible work PCYC does within our community. Through youth development programs, leadership initiatives, mentoring, and sporting opportunities, PCYC helps create positive pathways for young people and stronger communities for everyone.
A big thank you to the organisers, sponsors, volunteers, and participants who made the event such a success. We're proud to support such a worthwhile cause.

Can you record a call in Queensland without the other person knowing?

Generally, yes, as long as you're part of the conversation.

Under Queensland law, a person who is a party to a private conversation can record it without asking the other person.

Recording is one thing; what you do with it is another.

Sharing or publishing a private recording has its own rules with only narrow exceptions, so keep it for your own records and get advice before it goes anywhere.

It matters because in any dispute, memories differ and notes fade.

Knowing what you're allowed to keep a record of is part of knowing your rights.

Without prejudice. Those two words sit at the top of legal letters and settlement offers.

"Without prejudice" generally means the letter can't be used against the sender in court later.

It exists so both sides can speak openly about resolving a dispute, which is what makes honest settlement offers possible.

Without that protection, nobody would put a number in writing.

It isn't magic armour either. Stamping it on a letter doesn't protect content that has nothing to do with genuine settlement talks.
