Creating a smooth, respectful, and supportive rental experience from start to finish is always my goal. I’m incredibly grateful for tenants who recognise the effort that happens behind the scenes and take the time to share their experience.

January felt like a whole year on its own!

Getting back into the swing of property management and kicking off 2026 has been non-stop, but I’m finally finding my rhythm again.

Caught this beautiful sunrise this morning (plus a quick hello from Mr. Skippy 🦘) and it reminded me how important it is to slow down and take a moment for yourself.

In this line of work, it’s easy to get swept up in inspections, lease renewals, urgent repairs, and client calls. The days blur if you don’t make time to pause and reset.

Weekends are a chance to breathe, recharge, and come back with a clear head and a fresh mindset.

Here’s to a February filled with calm, focus, and good energy- in business and in life. 🌅💛

Yes, I’m back and officially kickstarted for 2026!

Last Friday, we launched the year with Blackshaw’s annual Kickstart Event at the beautiful Red Shed. The views were stunning and the energy was exactly what we needed to get inspired for the months ahead.

We had the absolute privilege of hearing from Dr. Jessica Gallagher, whose story was nothing short of powerful. One thing that really stuck with me was this quote she shared: “Courage is not the absence of fear. It is acting in spite of it.” It was the perfect reminder to step into the new year with confidence, no matter what.

To top it all off, our team placed 2nd in the Property Management Rewards Competition and won two tickets to AREC. I’m so proud of everything we’ve achieved and the hard work our team puts in every day.

It feels great to be back, feeling recharged, grateful, and ready to take on 2026 with focus and momentum. Let’s go!

And that’s a wrap on 2025! 🎉

Sharing a few snaps from our team celebrations this month.

We had dinner at Briscola (highly recommend if you’re craving Italian in the city 🍝), followed by a night at The Jury experience. Such a fun and unique night out with the team!

For our office Christmas party, we took things up a notch by dressing up as the person we got for Secret Santa 🎁, major kudos to those who nailed the look! I was lucky to receive a thoughtful gift from my Secret Santa, plus some amazing goodies from Alex and Bec: The Let Them Theory book, Smart Goggles, and sweet treats like Panettone and Rocky Road from Lou! 🍫🎄

We also celebrated the festive season at the Blackshaw Christmas Party, beach club vibes and good times all around. 🏖️

It’s been an eventful December, and I’m truly grateful to be part of such a supportive team and to work under a leader who inspires and empowers us every day.

Ready to reset, recharge, and come back even better in 2026! 🌟

Over the last few months, I had the privilege of volunteering on the Canberra Women in Business Gala Committee to help bring the 2025 Gala Night to life and last Friday, it all came together ✨

As part of the committee, I had the opportunity to work alongside an incredible group of driven, inspiring women—leaders, business owners, and professionals—who made this event truly special.

This experience taught me so much about collaboration, leadership, and the power of community. I’m proud to have played a part in making the night a success.

It was also a wonderful evening to reconnect with my friends, and my network, all in one room, celebrating women in business. 💜

Earlier this week, the Domestic Violence Reform Bill entered its second reading, a powerful step toward ensuring victim-survivors of domestic and family violence have stronger rights in the rental space. 🏡💛

The proposed reforms will allow tenants to end leases safely and without penalty, giving them faster access to secure, stable housing during critical moments.

As Property Managers and Landlords, it’s essential to understand what’s coming -both for compliance and to play our part in protecting vulnerable renters with compassion, care, and responsibility.

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending an Ikebana class by the talented Shizuko, who visited us through Network One and delivered a beautiful live demonstration of this traditional Japanese art form. 🌸🇯🇵

It reminded me that Property Management is a lot like Ikebana, both require balance, structure, and a sense of purpose behind every detail.

Every lease, inspection, and conversation has its purpose, just like every stem and bloom in a carefully arranged display. The result? A property that’s not only well-managed, but thoughtfully cared for.

There’s beauty in doing the small things well. 🌿🏡
