"Do I have to go to court?"

It’s one of the first things people worry about when considering bringing a personal injury claim.

The reality is that many personal injury matters resolve without ever reaching a courtroom.

Every claim is different, and if court does become necessary, we’ll explain why, what happens next and make sure you understand the process before taking that step.

Start with a free, no-obligation appointment with one of our lawyers.

The other side is prepared.

Insurers, employers and large organisations have systems, processes and people working behind them.

You should too.

We prepare carefully, build the evidence and understand the detail of your claim so we can make informed decisions about what happens next.

Last night, our Managing Principal and founder, Michel Margalit, was inducted into the 2026 Victorian Honour Roll of Women as a Change Agent.

Established in 2001, the Victorian Honour Roll of Women recognises women whose leadership, work and commitment have made a significant and lasting contribution to Victoria and beyond.

In 25 years, just over 790 women have been inducted into the Honour Roll, across fields including law, health, science, social justice, education, the arts and community leadership. To join them is an extraordinary honour.

Michel’s induction as a Change Agent recognises an enduring commitment to creating significant and lasting change – something that has defined her career.

Through complex litigation, advocacy and reform, Michel has consistently been willing to challenge systems, take on difficult cases and stand beside people who have been failed by institutions or denied a voice.

That same belief shaped Margalit Injury Lawyers when Michel founded the firm in 2018: that people deserve access to clear advice, strong advocacy and lawyers prepared to fight for them. We are immensely proud to see Michel’s contribution recognised in this way.

We also congratulate every woman inducted into the 2026 Victorian Honour Roll of Women. To be recognised alongside such an extraordinary group of women, each creating change in their own fields and communities, makes this occasion even more meaningful.

Congratulations, Michel. A remarkable recognition of the work you have done, and the work you continue to do.

Advocating for Injured Australians at Parliament House.

Our Managing Principal and Australian Lawyers Alliance National President, Michel Margalit, joined fellow ALA leaders in Canberra for a roundtable with senior government and parliamentary stakeholders.

Discussions covered justice, compensation and social policy issues including workers compensation, disability insurance, abuse law reform, privacy, artificial intelligence and the Comcare review.

An important opportunity to bring the issues affecting injured people directly to decision-makers.

A milestone for Margalit.

We’ve welcomed Thomas McCredie as Principal Solicitor and Jessica Rodrigues as Lawyer, bringing our team to 50 people. Thomas joins our Class Actions team, while Jessica joins our Personal Injury team.

As Michel told Lawyers Weekly, growth has never been about becoming bigger for the sake of it. It’s about building a firm that does excellent work, takes on matters that matter, and gives clients access to lawyers who know who they are.

What should the Australian Lawyers Alliance be fighting for next?

Our Managing Principal and ALA National President, Michel Margalit, recently spoke with Lawyers Weekly about her priorities for the year ahead.

From protecting access to justice to advocating for injured people and strengthening the voice of plaintiff lawyers nationally, Michel discusses some of the issues she believes deserve the profession’s attention.

We’re proud to be recognised in the 2026 Doyle’s Guide, with Margalit Injury Lawyers again named among Victoria’s leading plaintiff law firms.

This year, our firm has been recognised across three areas of injury law:
— Recommended Work Injury Compensation Law Firm
— Recommended Public Liability Compensation Law Firm
— Recommended Motor Vehicle Accident Compensation Law Firm

Congratulations also to Michel Margalit, our Managing Principal who is recognised for the sixth year in a row, and to our Principal Solicitor James Richardson, now in his third consecutive year of recognition.

Michel was recognised in Work Injury Compensation and Public Liability Compensation, while James was recognised in Motor Vehicle Accident Compensation.

These acknowledgements are particularly meaningful because Doyle’s Guide rankings are peer-reviewed, with lawyers recognising other lawyers and firms for the quality of their work.

A huge thank you to our whole team, whose dedication to our clients makes recognition like this possible.
