This is a very special milestone for Donovan Oates Hannaford, and one that reflects much more than time in business.

Welcoming Charlie Stott to Donovan Oates Hannaford Legal + Conveyancing

We are pleased to welcome Charlie Stott to Donovan Oates Hannaford as he completes his Practical Legal Training (PLT) with the firm.

Charlie recently completed his Bachelor of Laws at the University of New England, where he broadened his studies beyond law to include electives in sociology, criminology, business and peace studies. This multidisciplinary approach has helped shape his understanding of the wider social and commercial context in which the law operates.

During his time at University of New England (AU), Charlie also worked within the PASS@UNE student mentoring program, supporting fellow students through academic learning sessions. The experience not only strengthened his leadership and communication skills, but also helped him develop the confidence to guide and support others — something that naturally aligns with the client-focused approach we value at Donovan Oates Hannaford.

Charlie is currently undertaking his Practical Legal Training through the College of Law, which is the final stage of a law graduate’s pathway before admission as a solicitor. Charlie will complete his PLT placement with our team until May, gaining valuable experience working alongside our lawyers and seeing firsthand how legal advice supports clients through important and often challenging moments in their lives.

At Donovan Oates Hannaford, we are proud to support emerging legal professionals as they take the next step in their careers. Investing in the development of young talent is an important part of strengthening the future of the legal profession and our regional community.

Charlie has already expressed how much he values the firm’s dedication to supporting clients, and we look forward to helping him build on his legal knowledge while learning the practical skills of real client work.

Wills Week continues to be a meaningful initiative for our team each year, and we are proud to once again support the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service – Northern NSW.

As a regional law firm, giving back to the communities we live and work in is an important part of what we do. This initiative allows us to contribute to a truly vital service that supports our region when it matters most.
