Recently we have had an INFLUX in marketing agencies wanting to know MORE about what they can do to protect their clients.🤩

A huge initiative for DOLMAN & CO. it to actually expand awareness on trade mark laws to those who do the initial ground work.

Even if you designed the logo entirely from scratch with no prior art base for inspiration, even if you paid for all of the licensing; it doesn’t protect you or your client from the possibility of infringement.🥲

Imagine building all of your reputation on a brand that you would be later legally required to change.

Before branding your entire business with logos, names, colours and slogans; get your marketing team or graphic designer to liaise with a trade marks attorney. 💛

👀 Could Artificial Intelligence soon be named the inventor on a patent application? 👀

The law is as everchanging as is the fields in which it overseas. We’re very intrigued to see how the Federal Court responds to the most recent appeal.

“On 30 July 2021, the Federal Court found in
Thaler v Commissioner of Patents [2021] FCA 879 that, for the purposes of the Patents Act 1990 (Cth), an artificial intelligence (AI) system could be named as an inventor on a patent application. This decision overturned an earlier decision of IP Australia that only a human can be named as an inventor for an Australian patent.”
