Get ready for a game-changer in Australian migration!
The 'Skills in Demand Visa’ is going to replace the Temporary Skill Shortage (Subclass 482) Visa! It is expected to be available to apply by end of 2024.
Announced as part of a groundbreaking Migration Strategy on December 12, 2023, by the Department of Home Affairs, this update is set to revitalize skilled migration and boost the economy!
Here's what you need to know:
✨ Specialist Skills Pathway: For this pathway, there is going to be no reliance on skilled occupation lists! This pathway targets highly skilled workers with a minimum salary threshold of $135,000. This category will have a quick processing time of just 7-days!
✨ Core Skills Pathway: The primary pathway for temporary skilled migrants!
This pathway will have frequently updated occupation list and requires the applicant to have minimum income as set at the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT), which stands at $70,000.
✨ Essential Skills Pathway: This pathway is tailored for lower-paid workers. However, the details are yet to be finalised mid this year.
But that's not all! Labour Market Testing is getting streamlined, Worker Mobility is getting a boost, and accreditation pathways for Approved Sponsors are getting a modern makeover!
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development!
