Perth Family Lawyers wish to introduce 360 Family Health and Ms Stephanie Rea, a facilitator and counsellor with 20 years experience working with families who are experiencing challenges with life transitions and mental health.

Ms Rea offers counselling and workshops and provides support for parents from early childhood, such as managing transitions in sleeping and settling, mealtime difficulties, family relationships changes, and the like which may be of considerable benefit to our clients experiencing family breakdown.

Below are some of the key programs 360 Family Health deliver:

Keeping Kids in Mind:

Keeping Kids in Mind (KKIM) is a researched based program offering support for separating parents with children of any age. The program includes case management, a parenting course and support.

As featured in the July 2020 issue of the WA Family Law Pathways Network ebulletin
https://waflpn.org.au/wafamilypathways/media/documents/bulletins/waflpn-july-2020-ebulletin.pdf

Circle of Security:
This parent education program is designed to enhance attachment security between parents and children. The course is intended to help caregivers increase their awareness of their children’s needs and whether their own responses meet those needs.

Bringing Up Great Kids:
The program aims to support parents to review and enhance patterns of communication with their children, to promote more respectful interactions and encourage the development of children’s positive self-identity.

Tuning in to Teens / Engaging Adolescents
A parenting program that focuses on the emotional connection between parents/carers and their children. The evidence-based programs have proven success in improving parenting, parent-child relationships and children’s emotional competence and behaviour.

On completion, parents will receive a certificate of attendance. Mr Rea personally facilitate these courses either as one on one consults or group sessions. Ms Rea also deliver online programs which have proven to be popular with clients who are time poor or need evening appointments.

The dedicated team at Perth Family Lawyers understand that it can be difficult for separated parents to co-operate and communicate, so parenting courses may seem unnerving. However, we also know that healthy communication and understanding between the parents is the best tool to make their children’s life transition less challenging. Engaging in parenting programs and education can also be of significant benefit in your family law matters to demonstrate your commitment to ensuring you have all the tools necessary to be a great parent.

Do you have Christmas and summer school holiday arrangements in place for your children?
All Applications for parenting orders regarding Christmas arrangements must be filed with the Family Court by 4pm on the second Friday in November, failing which they will not be heard in time.
It is not always possible to reach an amicable agreement regarding special occasions and the intervention of the Court is sometimes necessary.
For separated families, the holiday season can be stressful if arrangements for children remain uncertain. Get advice now from one of our committed and dedicated family law solicitors at Perth Family Lawyers by calling 9325 8675 or visiting our website www.perthfamilylawyers.com

These reforms amended the Family Law Act 1975 to prioritise the rights of children, focus on the responsibility that each parent has towards their children, and support each child’s right to meaningful relationship with both parents where this is safe.

Often men do not express the way that they are feeling and tend to bottle things up. However, the below statistics are an indication that there may be a lot going on behind the scenes.

1 in 8 men experience depression.

1 in 5 men experience anxiety.

In Australia, we lose 8 men each day to su***de and the rate of men taking their own lives is 4 times higher than women.

Ways you can help others:

• Have the conversation. Checking in on people can have a significant impact on their mental health and ensures they feel connected and supported.
• Getting them support. There are many platforms and websites that offer free anonymous support services for men suffering with mental health issues.
• Be alert. If someone’s situation changes and you think they are in danger, call for emergency support, you may save someone’s life.

Ways you can help yourself:

• Stay healthy and connected. It is proven that men experience more loneliness than women and staying connected can be critical for your well-being.
• Seek support and help through your friends, family or co-workers. Having that trust in someone can make a significant difference in how you are feeling.
• Talk to your doctor and make an appropriate action plan. Doctors are an amazing source and can ease feelings of anxiety and fear surrounding mental health.

Perth Family Lawyers are aware of the impact that Family law matters can have on many men. Our dedicated family lawyers are here to listen, provide you with support and guide you through challenging times.
