Welcome to the AICWA (Australian Institute of Conveyancers WA Division)

The AICWA has set goals for the advancement of the profession of conveyancing in WA and is committed to best practice. The WA Division is a member of the National body being the Australian Institute of Conveyancers, and also has affiliations with the New Zealand Society of Conveyancers. Conveyancers specialise in property and

have specific training and skills in all areas relating to the sale and purchase of real estate and related transactions. Conveyancers are licensed professionals providing a specialist service to those who partake in real estate transactions. To ensure best practice, ethical standards and appropriate service standards for the conveyancing profession, the Institute obliges members to adhere to a Code of Conduct. The Institute works very closely with Landgate, the Office of State Revenue and the Department of Commerce (Consumer Protection) where required to ensure benefits for the Conveyancing profession and the consumers who avail themselves of such services.

Our 2026 AICWA State Conference went off without a hitch on Saturday! 🎉

A huge shoutout to all of our incredible exhibitors who helped bring so much energy to the day.

While most attendees were still waking up, our exhibitors were already hustling from 6am to create engaging spaces, set up their displays and get ready to welcome everyone through the doors.

From mini golf and risk catchers to caricatures and plenty of goodies, there was no shortage of things to see and do throughout the Expo Space!

A massive thank you to Stewart Title, easyAML, Realtime Conveyancer, Dye & Durham, PEXA, LodgeX, Marsh, Conveyancing Concierge, LiveSign, Total Home Inspections, Send Payments and our ever generous Member Relief Committee.

We had a full house for yesterday's easyAML training session at the AICWA office!

Rachel took us through different scenarios and functionalities of the easyAML platform, including:

• An overview of the platform and its key features
• Helpful hints, tips and customisation options
• A step-by-step walkthrough of the transaction process
• How to create a transaction
• How to unwrap company and trust structures

It was great to see such a strong turnout, with plenty of questions, practical learning and discussion throughout the session, plus some yummy food to keep everyone fuelled along the way!

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday. We hope you walked away with some useful tips and greater confidence using easyAML in your day-to-day work.

Member Update: Changes to SMSF Borrowing Rules

From 10 August 2026, changes to limited recourse borrowing arrangements (LRBAs) will affect the types of real property an SMSF can borrow to acquire.

To help members understand what these changes may mean for settlement transactions involving SMSFs, we’ve prepared a concise member update covering the key changes, transitional arrangements and practical considerations for settlement agents.
