Welcome to the AICWA (Australian Institute of Conveyancers WA Division)

The AICWA has set goals for the advancement of the profession of conveyancing in WA and is committed to best practice. The WA Division is a member of the National body being the Australian Institute of Conveyancers, and also has affiliations with the New Zealand Society of Conveyancers. Conveyancers specialise in property and

have specific training and skills in all areas relating to the sale and purchase of real estate and related transactions. Conveyancers are licensed professionals providing a specialist service to those who partake in real estate transactions. To ensure best practice, ethical standards and appropriate service standards for the conveyancing profession, the Institute obliges members to adhere to a Code of Conduct. The Institute works very closely with Landgate, the Office of State Revenue and the Department of Commerce (Consumer Protection) where required to ensure benefits for the Conveyancing profession and the consumers who avail themselves of such services.

Tranche 2 is coming, and it’s not optional.

By now, settlement agents should already have a clear picture of what their AML/CTF program will look like and starting to think about testing those processes on real files.

1 July 2026 is not the starting point, it’s the finish line.

Any matters you take on before that date which continue past 1 July will need to show clear evidence that your AML program has been applied. Waiting until the last minute simply won’t work.

If you haven’t started your preparation yet, the time for delay has passed. You need to start now.

No exceptions. No extensions. No shortcuts.
