CCLS welcomes the progress of Federal Parliament’s inquiry into the relationship between domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) and su***de.
This reflects what we see on the frontline every day. Su***de risk in DFSV context is not purely a health issue.
Many of the people we support are living with the impact of coerced debt and financial abuse, creating a deep sense of pressure and entrapment.
Community legal centres play a critical early intervention role, supporting people before issues escalate.
We will continue to advocate for safer systems and reforms that better support people experiencing DFSV.
