Last Wednesday evening, we celebrated the merger that officially commenced on 1 January 2026 with Taylor & Taylor Lawyers.

The newly appointed Director of Cullen Macleod Lawyers, Michael Taylor joined Catriona Macleod and Rick Cullen and gave a speech to the crowd over fabulous wines and canapes.

Michael confirmed that the merger is about building a firm that can deliver even greater value to our clients by providing a strong commercial arm and creating a practice with the depth, reach, and expertise to support clients through every stage of their business and personal legal needs.

A conversation in our office this week brought home how quickly rising fuel costs were affecting staff.

That is what led to our decision to provide temporary fuel support to all of our staff. This was not only about the cost of fuel, but the added pressure that rising commuting time was placing on staff.

Today’s Financial Review features an interview with one of our directors, Catriona Macleod, about our decision, with a front-page mention and the full story on page 3.

It is a small and practical step, and we hope it helps.

Cullen Macleod Lawyers had the pleasure of once again sponsoring a fabulous 3-day conference hosted by Women On Transition at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from Friday 13 March - Sunday 15 March 2026.

This community program is designed for women to heal, grow and thrive after separation or divorce. This event is one of many held across Australia, with another being held in Perth in October 2026.

Our team was so pleased to be able to chat to many that came along to discuss current and future needs and thankful we were able to provide some guidance. Thanks to those that came to say hello and have a chat at the conference.

We are proud sponsors of the Tennis club where we hosted our annual Twilight Tennis evening on Friday, 6 March. This year we had the fortunate pleasure of having one the female tennis greats, Alicia Molik join a few lucky players in our round robin tennis sets before she let us know about what she's involved in and answered a few questions from the crowd.

Of course, the night was not complete without some fish & chips from Amberjacks and an ice cream to end the night from the soft serve ice cream van from Swan Valley Diner.

A beautiful balmy night to end the week. Thanks to all those that attended ... until next year.
