If police want to speak to you about anything then you need to understand this. You have the right to remain silent.
Most people think ‘explaining themselves’ will help.
In reality, it often creates the very evidence used against them.
Police interviews aren’t casual conversations, they are recorded and used in court.
You can be respectful and still say:
‘I’d like legal advice before answering any questions.’
