Today, we successfully obtained judgment in the Local Court of NSW on behalf of our client for an unpaid commercial debt.
Running a business inevitably involves trust. Businesses should be able to rely on the promise that money lawfully owed will be repaid.
Unfortunately, when repeated requests and opportunities to resolve a matter are ignored, legal proceedings may become necessary.
A court judgment is not merely a piece of paper. It is a Court order. If the judgment debt remains unpaid, the law provides a range of enforcement options to assist a successful party in recovering what is owed.
The lesson is simple: if you owe money, deal with it early. Ignoring demands or hoping that they will let you go as they are "better off" will often result in greater costs, interest and enforcement action.
