How to clear damp and dehumidify with your Air Conditioning Units.
Following the recent torrential rains and flooding we have experienced in sydney we are receiving a large number of calls from people enquiring about whether or not they can use Air Conditioning systems for dehumidification.
The answer to that question is yes and can be achieved with wall mounted split systems by using the the mode button to scroll to the tear drop setting.
We recommend following 3 simple steps to achieve best results:
Step 1: Set the system to dehumidify and close all windows and doors to contain the area and allow the system to run for an hour or so. This will allow the unit to remove any moisture that already exists in the air.
Step 2: Switch the unit to heating and turn the temperature up as high as possible. If you’re dehumidifying a bedroom open all cupboards and wardrobes then allow the system to again run for 1-2 hours which will evaporate any water or moisture trapped in floors, walls, furniture etc.
Step 3: Switch the unit back to dehumidify and again allow the system to run for another 1-2hrs.
This process will ensure that all moisture is then removed from the living space and also ensures the water is then ejected from the space via the condensate drain.
