🎮 Remember our new members ‘The Control Room’? They’re ready to come out and play!

A new technology playground could be coming to the Nowra/Bomaderry area — and this October, local tweens and teens get the chance to help shape what it could become.

The Control Room is a new venue concept designed around technology, creativity, gaming and hands-on experiences. Before making the much bigger investment into a permanent venue, the team is running a three-day trial event, First Contact, at Cambewarra Village Community Hall from 9–11 October.

And this isn’t simply about seeing whether people will buy a ticket. It’s about finding out what local young people actually want and need from a space like this.

Expect a mix of:
🎮 VR & interactive gaming
🔬 STEM & circuitry
🤖 Weird and wonderful hands-on technology
🎧 Silent disco
🍹 Mocktails
…and a few things that are rather difficult to explain until you actually play with them!

The Control Room has already been getting out into the community, including at the UOW Shoalhaven Science Week showcase, and will also be exhibiting at the Shoalhaven Disability Expo.

If you’ve got a tween or teen who loves gaming, technology, science, making things — or simply wants somewhere a little different to hang out — First Contact is their chance to get involved and help shape the future of The Control Room.
