There is a lot that happens in the background when you buy or sell a home.

It's why conveyancers have the skills and qualifications we do.

Searches, title checks, coordinating with banks, agents etc, making sure all the dates line up and nothing gets missed between signing and settlement day.

You don't see most of it and that's kind of the point.

Our job is to make sure everything is taken care of so that by the time settlement goes through, the only thing you need to think about is which key opens the front door.

Getting you there without the stress - that's the whole job.

You know what people don't realise until it comes up?

There are three types of property titles in SA.

Torrens, Strata and Community.

Which title your new home sits under can mean some different terms and conditions you may not have been aware of when you signed the contract.

Torrens is your standard standalone home. But if you're looking at a unit or townhouse, you're likely dealing with Strata or Community title and that's a different thing altogether.

Body corporates, shared insurance, by-laws that tell you whether you can have a dog or where you can park.

It sounds like a lot. It really isn't once someone just explains it to you properly.
