🚨🚨Department of Home Affairs has introduced multiple legislation taking effect from 2 October 2026.

❌Student visa holder will no longer be eligible to apply for the dependent visa for their family or include them in their student visa application from 2 October 2026. There are few exceptions for family members who are already in Australia as dependants of student visa holders.

😮‍💨Already lodged applications are not impacted.

🚨 🚨 🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE: Change of Provider or Transferring to a New Provider

From 2 October 2026, new rules will apply to international students who want to transfer from one education provider to another.

📌 What’s changed?

✅ Until 30 June 2027: Students will generally need to complete at least 12 months of their principal course before transferring to another education provider.

🔄 Previously, students could transfer after completing 6 months of study of their principal course.

📅 From 1 July 2027: The requirement will return to 6 months.

Early transfer may still be possible only if:

✅ Your current education provider agrees to release you
✅ Your provider or course is no longer registered
✅ You have written support from your government sponsor
