On Friday 13 February 2026, we acknowledged the 18th anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations.
We pause to remember, reflect, and honour the strength of our Elders, families and communities who carry stories of removal, loss, and survival.
This day serves as a reminder of the deep wounds caused by policies which affected children, language and cultures and reminds us all of the grief carried across generations.
The National Apology acknowledges the truth of what happened and reminds us all that healing comes from truth-telling, listening to the voices of survivors and walking together in respect and understanding.
On this anniversary, we honour the Stolen Generations, their courage and enduring love for culture, family and Country.
We stand with them in solidarity, and we recommit ourselves to truth, to healing, and to a future where no child is ever taken from their family again.
