📊 Australia's latest marriage and divorce statistics are in.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics has released its 2025 marriage and divorce data, and the numbers tell an interesting story.

💍 118,804 marriages were registered in 2025 – a slight decrease of 1.7% from the previous year.
💔 49,158 divorces were granted across Australia – an increase of 4.1% from 2024.

Some other key insights:

• The median length of a marriage before separation is now 9.4 years.
• The median age at divorce has increased to 47.3 years for men and 44.4 years for women.
• Divorce rates have risen among Australians aged 35 and over, while slightly declining in younger age groups.

While statistics provide a snapshot of trends, every family and every separation is unique. If you're navigating a relationship breakdown, understanding your rights and options early can make all the difference.
