Wishing Alannah a very happy birthday for today! 🎉

Yesterday we celebrated and took Alannah out for lunch. We enjoyed the most amazing Mexican at Papalote As a team, it is always nice to pause and enjoy spending some time together. It is often rare in our office as we are too busy assisting our clients and referral partners!

We see a lot of $99 Wills in our office and we get why they’re tempting. They’re quick, they’re cheap and they feel like a box ticked. But every so often, they go completely wrong. A house that was sold years ago which is still listed in the Will, an executor who’s predeceased with no substitute in place, a signature in the wrong spot and the list goes on. None of this is a $99 fix. It usually means a court application, a lawyer and a long, stressful process for a family who’s already grieving.

The $99 is just the price but the real cost shows up later at the worst possible time for the family, when the one person who could explain what they meant is the one person you can no longer ask. This is why we always encourage clients to get it done correctly from the start. It’s not really about the document itself, it’s about making sure the people you love aren’t left guessing when the document is actually needed.

Last hospital trip, I’m calling it! 🙏

I’ve received so many more beautiful calls and messages from industry professionals including agents, brokers, other lawyers and conveyancers offering their help in literally any way they can. It’s been getting me through the long days and nights. I’m truly so grateful and humbled, I honestly had no idea I had this much support!

My journey hasn’t been a secret this year... it’s been one of the hardest years of my life. The hardest part wasn’t all the surgeries, the pain, the medications or the hospital stays. The hardest part was again telling my young child that mummy has to go back and trying to find the words when he asked me if I was ‘dying’. Literally nothing prepares you for that conversation…..

Whilst this has been so hard on our family unit, we are so thankful to everyone who keeps showing up for us and Next LC, both old and to our surprise new. It means SO much to us.

As always, a huge shoutout to my team for consistently delivering the high standard we’re known for, my team absolutely hasn’t missed a beat! Of course they haven’t, they are amazing!

It’s been a hell of a year... but if I can get through this, do an office fit out, move offices, do a rebrand and everything in between, I know I can get through anything. Gosh lookout world, I’m genuinely scared. 🙃

A mostly relaxing week in Bali (as those that know us know we don’t ever stop)! This trip was quite literally just what the doctor ordered! 🌺

Some colleagues become friends but a rare few become like family and stick by you through the ups and downs of business as it’s never smooth sailing.

I am so incredibly grateful we were able to go on a trip together not as colleagues but as friends.

Many years of hard work, growth and more good memories shared!
