On Thursday, 6 August 2026, Rebecca Healy, Principal Lawyer at Nevin Lenne Gross Lawyers attended the Mount Beauty Neighbourhood Centre as part of a three-week workshop series facilitated by Death Café under the Good to Go Project. The workshop series is designed to encourage community discussion and education surrounding end-of-life planning and related legal, financial and personal decision-making matters.
Rebecca also recently presented as a guest speaker at a Death Café event in Beechworth and is scheduled to present at upcoming events in Wangaratta and Yackandandah.
Rebecca's presentation runs for about one and a half hours and covers estate planning and succession matters, including:
• Intergenerational family transfers and succession planning;
• Superannuation and estate assets;
• Ownership of property and bank accounts upon death;
• The importance of a properly prepared Will; and
• Medical Treatment Decision Makers, Advance Care Planning and Enduring Powers of Attorney.
The presentation generated significant discussion, with attendees raising questions regarding succession planning, superannuation, powers of attorney and health decision-making. Rebecca explained the practical operation of these documents and their role in effective future planning.
Rebecca recognises the importance of community education around estate planning, incapacity and end-of-life decision-making and is committed to supporting local communities through these initiatives. She is always pleased to attend community groups and organisations to speak on these topics and welcomes enquiries from organisations interested in hosting an educational session. These presentations are provided on a pro bono basis as part of her commitment to community engagement and legal education.
The workshop was well received and contributed to the educational objectives of the Good to Go Project by increasing awareness of the importance of proactive estate planning and informed decision-making. Attendees were encouraged to seek individual legal advice regarding their personal circumstances where appropriate.
