Our story in the May issue of Tribuna Newspaper explains that the state of Connecticut is expanding HUSKY health care coverage to all children 15 and younger as of July 1, no matter their immigration status – as long as families do not exceed income limits based on the size of the family.

Florida no longer recognizes the drive-only licenses Connecticut issues to undocumented individuals 16 and older who are unable to establish lawful presence in the U.S.

The change took effect July 1 and also affects driver privilege cards issued by Rhode Island, Delaware, Hawaii, and Vermont. (Drive-only cards at not valid for federal identification purposes and can’t be used to vote.)

News reports warn that those with drive-only cards from these states who encounter law enforcement officials in Florida may face charges.

I'm available for anyone with questions or concerns about their immigration status and how to possible apply for legal permanent residence in the United States. Call my office at (203) 744-1234, or email me at [email protected]

Florida's new immigration law cracks down on the ability of undocumented immigrants to move freely.

Cramer & Anderson Partner Jennifer Hack Collins and I participated in the New Milford Parks & Recreation Trunk or Treat event Saturday evening, which drew thousands of participants, all wearing terrific costumes. We were the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus (though we're good "witches," of course) and had a booth outside the firm's flagship office on Main St. What a great Halloween evening!

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday upheld the ruling by a federal judge in Texas declaring DACA illegal but also sent the case back to the judge for another look based on the Biden administration's August revisions to DACA.

Important note: Nothing changes for those already enrolled in DACA, as the Texas judge left DACA intact pending the outcome of the appeal.

I'm available for anyone with questions or concerns about DACA-related issues, including whether you may have other avenues to obtaining permanent residence. Phone: (203) 744-1234, email: [email protected]

The Fifth Circuit said a federal district judge in Texas should take another look at the program following the revisions adopted by the Biden administration, leaving the future of DACA up in the air.
