🏡 Important Changes for Property Buyers & Sellers from 1 July 2026

If you’re buying or selling property after 1 July 2026, there are some important new requirements you need to be aware of. As part of updated Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) laws, conveyancers will be required to verify not only your identity, but also the source of your funds for every property transaction.

This means you may be asked to provide additional documentation and information throughout the conveyancing process. While it may feel like extra paperwork, these changes are designed to protect the integrity of Australia’s property market and help prevent financial crime.

At MJM Conveyancing, we’re here to guide you through the new requirements and make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. If you’re planning to buy or sell property, now is the perfect time to understand what these changes mean for you. 🏡✨

📢 RBA Keeps Interest Rates on Hold

The Reserve Bank of Australia has today announced that it will leave the official cash rate unchanged.

The decision reflects the RBA’s continued focus on balancing inflation, economic growth and cost-of-living pressures across the country.

For many Australians, today’s announcement provides some certainty, with no immediate changes expected to interest rates following this month’s meeting.

As always, the property market will continue to respond to a range of factors, including interest rates, buyer confidence, housing supply and broader economic conditions.

What do you think of today’s decision?

🏠 A question for home buyers…

If interest rates dropped tomorrow, would you start looking for a property?

If your answer is yes, you’re probably not alone.

And that’s exactly why many buyers are finding themselves caught between two decisions:

Buy now while competition is lower?

Or wait until confidence returns and risk competing with more buyers?

The challenge is that by the time everyone feels comfortable buying again, the market has often already started moving.

Nobody knows exactly what the next 6-12 months will bring.

But one thing we do know is that life doesn’t stop because the market is uncertain.

People still buy their first home.
Families still need more space.
Investors still look for opportunities.
People still move on to their next chapter.

💬 So let’s settle the debate…

If you were buying a property today, would you:
👍 Buy now
❤️ Wait 6 months

Tell us why.
