The Pandemic Event visa is closing to new applicants who do not hold a Pandemic Event visa.

It was introduced in April 2020 during our border closures because of COVID-19 to help address labour shortages in critical sectors in the local economy.

If you hold a Pandemic Event visa you may be able to apply for a subsequent visa until the visa is fully closed on 1 February 2024.

More than 300,000 New Zealand citizens currently residing in Australia will have direct access to apply for Australian citizenship by conferral from 1 July 2023.

This change reflects the long-standing, close and special bilateral relationship between our two nations.

Important announcement for all temporary graduate 485 visa holders.

We no longer accept applications for skills assessments for the Temporary Graduate (Subclass 485) visa.

This follows the Australian Government’s announcement that skills assessment for this visa will no longer be required from July 1, 2022.

This is an enforceable requirement. The DPD collects important health, COVID-19 testing and vaccination status information, which helps keep international travellers and our community COVID-safe.

You can download the new DPD app for free from the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Android).
