🚨 TASMANIA STATE NOMINATION UPDATE — DEADLINE APPROACHING 🚨

Planning to apply for the Tasmania State Nomination? Time is running out.

Due to overwhelming demand, Tasmania has confirmed that Registrations of Interest (ROIs) for ALL pathways and passes under the 2025–26 program year will soon close.

📌 Important Dates:
🗓️ 3 June 2026 – 5:00 PM (Tasmania Time)
Final opportunity to lodge your ROI for the 2025–26 program year

🗓️ 4 June 2026
Final invitation round for the current program year

❓What happens if you don’t receive an invitation before the deadline?

✅ Your ROI will stay active in the Application Gateway for up to 6 months
✅ It may automatically roll over for consideration once the 2026–27 program opens
✅ Applications already lodged will continue to be processed

⚠️ However, nomination places are now extremely limited. Once allocations are exhausted, approved applications may need to wait until the next program year for nomination availability.

📍If Tasmania is part of your PR strategy, now is the time to prepare your documents, review your eligibility, and submit before the cut-off.

🇦🇺 Australia Releases 2026–27 Permanent Migration Program Levels

The Australian Government has confirmed the planning levels for the 2026–27 Permanent Migration Program, with skilled migration continuing to take priority — especially for applicants already living and working in Australia.

Here are the key highlights 👇

📊 Total Permanent Migration Places
Australia has allocated 185,000 permanent migration places for the 2026–27 program year.

The program aims to support economic and workforce needs while managing pressures linked to housing, infrastructure, and population growth.

🤹‍♂️Skilled Migration Continues to Dominate
A total of 132,240 places have been allocated to the Skill Stream, making up more than 70% of the entire program.

Priority remains on:
✔️ Skilled professionals
✔️ Trades and technical occupations
✔️ Workers in critical shortage sectors
✔️ Applicants supporting Australia’s long-term economic growth

💼 Increased Preference for Onshore Applicants
The Government has allocated 129,590 places to migrants already in Australia, reflecting a stronger focus on applicants currently contributing to the local economy.

This includes:
✔️ Temporary visa holders already working or studying in Australia
✔️ Skilled migrants transitioning to permanent residency
✔️ Applicants with existing workforce and community integration

➕ An additional 300 places have been reserved under the Special Eligibility stream.

🌏 Offshore Migration Opportunities Remain Available.
The remaining 55,110 places are intended for offshore applicants, particularly those with skills aligned to Australia’s priority workforce needs and shortage occupations.

🚨 AUSTRALIA TRAVEL UPDATE
New entry restriction now in effect for Visitor visa holders with Iranian passports

The Australian Government has implemented a new “Arrival Control Determination” effective March 26, 2026. This temporary measure limits entry to Australia for certain Iranian nationals holding visitor visas due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East.

Key Details:

Who is affected: Iranian passport holders currently outside Australia with a Visitor (Subclass 600) visa.
Restriction: Entry using this visa is temporarily suspended for 6 months.
Important note: The visa is not cancelled—it is only paused and will become usable again after 6 months, provided it remains valid

Who is NOT affected?
The restriction does not apply to the following Iranian Visitor visa holders:
The spouse, de facto partner, or dependent child of:
-an Australian citizen
-an Australian permanent resident
-or an Australian resident without time limitations (e.g. New Zealand citizens)
-A parent of a child under 18 who is in Australia
-Individuals who were already in Australia when the determination took effect
-Those who have been granted a valid Permitted Travel Certificate (PTC)

Urgent travel cases:
In rare and compelling situations, affected individuals may apply for a Permitted Travel Certificate (PTC) to request permission to travel despite the restriction.

If you or someone you know might be impacted, it’s important to understand who can still travel and what options are available.
