Australia has a housing crisis — and not enough tradies to fix it. 🏗️🇦🇺

So in 2026, skilled construction workers are being prioritised for visas.

Carpenter, electrician, plumber or welder?

Your ANZSCO code decides your route — 482, 186, 190 or 491. Getting it right is where most people slip up.

EazyViza checks your occupation and finds your best possible pathway. ✅

Thinking about bringing your partner over while you're on a 485? It's possible — but only if your relationship already meets the bar: married, registered, or 12+ months living together. Engaged isn't enough on its own.

You've got two options: add them to your application now (if you qualify at lodgement), or add them later as a subsequent entrant once your 485 is granted. Kids can be added any time before a decision — partners can't be added mid-process.

Not sure where your relationship stands? DM "PARTNER" and we'll check your eligibility — no cost, no obligation.

One refusal or cancellation can lock you out of applying for almost every other visa while you're still in Australia.

It's called the s48 bar. It hits the moment you don't hold a substantive visa and a visa was refused or cancelled since your last entry.

A few visas stay open, like partner, protection, bridging and some skilled visas. Everything else usually means leaving the country to apply again.

Getting this wrong can cost you months, or your case entirely.

Not sure if it applies to you? Comment BAR and we'll DM you to check.

No work rights. Bills still due. Here’s what you can actually do about it. 💼

If you’re on a Bridging Visa C, this one’s for you.

Why BVC has no work rights: it’s typically issued when your status was restored rather than maintained. That means it comes without work rights by default, unlike BVA or BVB.

Important: working on a BVC without granted rights is a breach of your visa condition. Don’t risk it. Check your options first.

Check this first: if your BVC is linked to a 189, 190, or 186 application, you may already have automatic work rights. Look at your grant letter.

If not, you can apply for work rights through “compelling need” by proving genuine financial hardship via Form 1005.

What to include: bank statements, proof of expenses, and a personal statement explaining your situation.

Comment “BVC” and we’ll help build your case properly. Free 15-min consult. 📲

Got condition 8503 on your Australian visa? You may still have options.

8503, or “No Further Stay”, can stop you from applying for many visas while you are in Australia.

In limited cases, Home Affairs may waive it if your circumstances changed after the visa was granted, were beyond your control, and are compelling and compassionate.

A waiver is not automatic, and strong evidence matters.

If you have 8503 and your situation has changed, get advice before making your next move.

Send us a DM and our migration law team can review your situation.

🚨 BIG visa update: the way Australia processes skilled visas just changed — and most applicants have no idea.

Ministerial Direction 119 came into effect on 25 July 2026, replacing MD105 and rewriting the entire priority queue for skilled and employer-sponsored visas 🇦🇺 — including the 482 for the first time. It's now about TWO things: your occupation and where you were when you applied.

🏗️🩺🍎 Construction, healthcare and teaching just jumped the line. But is YOUR visa faster now, or slower?

We broke down all 5 priority tiers so you know exactly where you stand. Swipe through 👉 save this post so you don't lose it, and share it with anyone waiting on a skilled visa right now.

Not sure where your application sits? DM us "PRIORITY" and we'll walk you through it. 📩

Your partner visa was approved. Your child’s dependent visa was refused. 💔

It’s one of the most common partner visa mistakes families make — most don’t find out a dependent child can be refused separately until the refusal letter lands.

If you’re adding a child to a partner visa (subclass 820/801 or 309/100), here’s what to know 👇

Every dependent is assessed individually against health, character and eligibility criteria. Your approval does NOT carry over to them.

Top reasons a dependent child’s visa gets refused in Australia:
🏥 Health — condition estimated to cost the community over $86,000 (the 2026 Significant Cost Threshold)
📋 Character — a police clearance or character issue
📄 Custody — missing consent from the non-travelling parent
❓ Dependency — dependency on the primary applicant not proven

The custody one blindsides families the most. If you share custody and the other parent won’t consent, the child’s visa generally can’t be granted without a court order.

But a health refusal is NOT the end. A health waiver is available for partner visa dependents, and family reunion cases are often granted on compassionate grounds.
