Before becoming a lawyer, Skye worked as a nurse.

That background shapes the way she supports injured workers, including nurses and ANMF members navigating WorkCover claims.

Skye understands the medical, financial, employment, and personal pressures that can come with a workplace injury, and the uncertainty people can feel when they do not know what comes next.

If you’re attending the ANMF Vic Branch Delegates Conference this week, come and speak with the Gordon Legal team.

For some nurses, the impact of COVID did not end when the pandemic moved out of the headlines.

Many nurses worked through the early stages of the pandemic under enormous pressure, often while short-staffed and caring for patients in difficult circumstances.

For some, Long COVID has had a lasting impact on their health, their ability to work and, in some cases, their ability to continue in the career they love.

Nurses are used to caring for others. But when your own health is affected, you do not have to work out the next step alone.

If you’re an ANMF Vic Branch member and work-related illness is affecting your ability to keep working, contact ANMF or speak with the Gordon Legal team about the support available to you.

Before becoming a personal injury lawyer, Skye worked as a nurse.

She understands that nursing can be physically and emotionally demanding, and that asking for help is not always easy when you’re used to caring for everyone else.

That experience now shapes the way Skye supports injured nurses and ANMF members through workplace injury and compensation claims.

If you’re attending the ANMF Vic Branch Delegates Conference next week, we’ll be there, so stop by for a chat with the Gordon Legal team.

Yesterday Victoria Keays sat down with Wendy Jenkins from the Lungitude Foundation to talk about our involvement in this year’s Giving Day.

All donations made tomorrow, Thursday 11 June 2026, will be matched dollar-for-dollar, helping support research focused on improving outcomes for lung transplant patients.

Injured at work? Here’s what Gordon Legal can help with.

WorkCover is Victoria’s workers compensation scheme. It’s insurance that financially supports workers who are injured or become ill because of their work.

Depending on your situation, you may be entitled to weekly payments if you’re unable to work, medical treatment expenses, and a lump sum payment for a permanent injury.

If your claim is delayed, or you disagree with a decision made by WorkCover, you have review options.

WorkCover can be difficult to navigate so it’s important to understand your rights and seek advice from experienced lawyers early.

This Injured Workers Day, we recognise injured workers and the reality that recovery is not always simple, especially when income, treatment, and work are affected.

We remain committed to helping Victorians navigate the WorkCover scheme when they need support most.

When someone is diagnosed with a lung condition, the focus is understandably on treatment, family, and planning for what comes next.

But for people who have worked around asbestos, silica, dust, fumes or other airborne hazards, there is another very important question: Could my work history be relevant?

This Lung Health Awareness Month, our dust diseases expert Victoria Keays explains why that question matters, the importance of telling your doctor your work history, and why it’s worth starting a record now.

During Lung Health Awareness Month, it is worth remembering that your lung health history can include more than symptoms and appointments.

Old jobs, renovations, DIY projects, dusty hobbies and exposure to asbestos, silica, fumes or fibers may all be relevant later.

Avoiding exposure may not always be possible.

If you are concerned about your lungs, speak to your GP. If you have questions about whether a lung condition may be connected to workplace or home exposure, our dust diseases team can help you understand your options.
