We are hiring!

We are looking for a solicitor with between 3 to 8 years post admission experience in family law to join our team.

If you share our vision of delivering an excellent customer experience, you want to be part of a great team and experience the opportunities our firm offers, we would love to hear from you.

The role requires you to work collaboratively on matters with other team members, clients and professionals. We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to business development, building professional referral relationships and continuing professional development with the support of the firm.

We are really excited to be once again partnering with the Law Institute of Victoria for their Law Week 2022 event program.

We would firstly like to wish all our valued clients and colleagues a much deserved, restful and enjoyable holiday period.

It has been a year of challenges and valuable lessons and while our team spent the majority of the year working remotely, our offices will be 'closed' from close of business Friday 18 December, reopening the morning of Monday 11 January 2021.

We are proud to welcome our newest staff member, Jenni Mooney, to the Carew Counsel family.

Jenni brings with her over 30 years of experience in Family Law, having worked at some of Melbourne's premier Family Law firms in the past.

She shares a particular interest in property settlement matters but as an avid dog lover, she also has a special interest in disputes on pet ownership following separation and understands the bond between owners and their pets.

We look forward to you meeting our newest staff member and wish Jenni all the best for her future at Carew Counsel Solicitors.

"There has been more violence in more Australian homes. The severity of violence has increased and COVID is actually being weaponised within the home as a tool of abuse," Natasha Stott Despoja, chair of campaign group Our Watch, told the National Press Club on Wednesday."

Really concerning numbers produced by Natasha Stott Despoja in the The Sydney Morning Herald on Wednesday. We hope that anyone that is experiencing Family Violence understands that there is help out there and you are not alone.

"Even during stage 4, even during the curfew hours of 8pm-5am you can leave your house to escape family violence.
