Sa bisa ng Health Insurance Order 2019, pinagtibay ni Liz Dowd, Delegate of the Health Minister na eligible persons para sa Health Insurance o Medicare ang mga holders ng Subclass 491 (Skilled Work (Provisional ) at Subclass 494 (Skilled Work-Employer Sponsored) visa simulation November 16, 2019. Health Insurance (Eligible Persons – Holders of Skilled Work Visa (Subclass 491 and 494)) Order 2019
I, Liz Dowd, as Delegate for the Minister for Health, acting under subsection 6(1) of the Health Insurance Act 1973 (the Act), hereby declare the following:

(a) The following persons, while located in Australia, are included within the specified class of persons and are to be treated as eligible persons for the purposes of the Act:
(i) A person who holds a Subclass 491 (Skilled Work (Provisional)) visa granted under the Migration Act 1958; and
(ii) A person who holds a Subclass 494 (Skilled Work – Employer Sponsored (Provisional)) visa granted under the Migration Act 1958.
(b) Persons falling within the above categories shall be regarded as eligible persons under the Health Insurance Act 1973, and are therefore entitled to access Medicare benefits in accordance with the Act.

This Order commenced on 16 November 2019.

Simula noong April 23, 2025 ay naging epektibo ang new registration standards ng internationally-qualified nurses dito sa Australia. Ito ay nagbigay daan sa mga kakabayan nating nurses na kabilang sa non-comparable jurisdiction na magapply ng Direct Registration sa Australia kung sila ay nabibilang sa mga sumusunod.

Una, sila ay nagtapos sa Pilipinas ng Bachelor of Nursing noong January 1, 2017 o pagkatapos nito.

Ikalawa, sila ay nagtratrabaho sa mga kinikillang bans ana tulad ng Singapore, UK, Ireland, provinces of Ontario and British Colombia, Spain, US.

Ikatlo, sila ay nakapagtala ng 1800 hours of work o halos isang taon na pagtratrabaho sa mga nasabing bansa.

Kung kayo ay hindi kwalipikado rito, ang inyong registration pathway ay ang tinatawag nating OBA o Outcomes-Based Assessment.
